What Trading For Brandon Ingram REALLY Means For The Raptors

Masai traded for Ingram for many reasons. People are ignoring, or either don’t know about video where they asked Ingram what’s the best cities in the NBA and he said Miami, LA and Toronto. People think Masai and Bobby are sleeping at the wheel here and not paying attention to these things. The went after a Star caliber player that already loves the city. Some people are so obsessed with the draft the they simply don’t understand good GM’s have a plan A and Plan B. Masai knows we can lose every game for the rest of the season and still not get Flagg. It’s all luck! If the draft goods don’t go our way then what ? This is why he got Ingram now. This move is mostly about next season! If we do get Flagg or a top 3 pick we are loaded. Some people act as if Masai and Bobby just need to only focus on the draft and don’t do anything else other than just lose games, hope and pray ? “That’s a great GM”

You think Masai or Bobby don’t know this ? They talked to him already. This isn’t the Kawhi situation where Kawhi said from the jump his intention is to go home.

The tank is looking BETTER THAN EVER in my opinion. Ingram is injured, three starters were out last game, and Toronto has moved three of their best players coming off of the bench. The promising rookies get way more playing time.

Cool team shift, what we traded without sacrificing picks for is a win! It ups team offensive and if we can maneuver BI into our system, lots of potential to even out our squad I feel most felt Brown and olynyk would be moved regardless, hopefully BI doesnt rush onto the team too soon to maintain some losses but thats a trade thats hard to say no to! Itll be nice to see how BI jells with the team

I’ve been a fan of Ingram for a long time and we can bring him into the mix at a good pace. Getting him on a great deal is the cherry on top.

Basically we traded a 2nd and Kelly for Ingram. If anyone thinks that this is a bad deal,... Brown was gone at the end of the year and the 1st was Indiana's pick. So that's really what it cost us to land a potential star - a backup aging center and a 2nd. If it doesnt work out here, Masai should be able to flip him for something considerably more. Only concern should be if he resigns or not. If he doesnt resign then all the Raptors did was dump Kelly contract and a 2nd. Not great but not end of the world either.

Odds are we were going to be picking outside the top 3 anyways and Ingram when he is healthy is one of the best pure scorers in the league, something you can only hope your 1st round draft pick ever gets close to. Raptors now have a threat of someone who can go for 40+ and taking some offensive load off of scottie so he can focus his energy on defense and playmaking, I would even try and go more aggressively now and try to trade Poetl + Boucher + 26 or 27 1st round pick for Lively and salary from the mavericks since they don't seem to be married to their players, Quick-Barrett-Ingram-Barnes-Lively would be a very fun starting line up to watch

Brandon Ingram can come into the Raptors and do what Kawhi did for the Raptors and lead them back to the finals. He can avg. 30 ppg in the Raptors system and the team is complete now adding a closer.

With his skills and experience, BI is the piece the Raptors needed to maintain some sort of consistency for the team, offensively. This may even out some of Barnes and Barret's bad passing decisions every now and then. He is like a breed between KD and Reggie Miller.

There's no question the team is better on Paper - But this is RISKY AF - I don't think I would have done it this way. You have a Rental player; with a Raptors unfriendly sgent; Looking for 45 million from a contender with great weather. That's not a good look generally. But the Deal includes Kelly not Boucher - so you have to believe there is an agreement in principle to extend. Kelly clears cap and Chris expires or is gone.... So that's fine. They can afford him with the cap increase and stay under tax.. But then you have the on court product and Ingram is not the skilled prototypical PF the team needs to compete in the east against teams like CLE; IND; BOS; MIL; NYK. Raps will be in the playoff picture next year - and looking at a bunch of teams that can bully them in the paint 1st round. He's similar but slightly smaller and not quite as good as Scottie is. Darko is going to have to coach his @ss off.

I get he is a good player but I am not a fan just based on the fact they got nothing but a rental at this point. If they announced like a 4 year 35 million a year deal I be gigantic win. But all our chips are in the middle now his team is going to be we want max or we are going to free agency. The Raptors are falling into the overpaying trap for someone to be in Toronto, this team needs to be built thru the draft. How is a year of Olynyk and Brown on the team considered good? Like, you can't tell me with a straight face that the presence of giving development minutes to 2 over-paid rentals, one of which clearly displayed he wasn't invested in being here in the first place, and both of which spent majority of the season on the bench injured outweighs the presence of a role model, most improved, all star, all nba player who is 10% older. Like in my eyes 3 years difference in age is cancelled out by the fact Scottie and Pascal already spent 3 years building chemistry playing together.
