Being from Fort Worth and having spent an extensive amount of time in Austin, these observations are on point. You may want to abandon the nightmares that are California and New York to move here for a job, but don't. The companies are moving here because the taxes are lower and they can pay less for labor. When you see the pay cut you're going to have to take you're just going to add to the unemployed population, perhaps eventually the homeless population. Deployed with some communications guys from Fort Huachuca, they called their patch the "Thunder Chicken." When you deployed with them as a unit you'd get two patches, one on each shoulder, and they called that the "Chicken Sandwich."
