This biggest issue I have with “Rockstar” Chuck change is how the company pretty much went against their original morals with “Without Magic, we’re just another pizza place.” I get it, companies change things throughout their life because it’s a business, but the new remodeled CECs feel so corporate and soulless. I feel like I’m looking inside a Wendy’s. The “Avenger” Chuck felt like someone I could call a friend and a brother. His soft spoken, calm, welcoming voice tuned me into the show. He and his friends also didn’t put him on a pedestal every second of the day. Listen to “If Everyone Were Chuck E.”

Yeah, the avenger era was the best era of CEC. Studio C especially back then really felt like a real tv studio and it could interact with the guests. How they would merge the show footage and puppet footage and have it switch around the TVs really brought the show to life, and it really did feel magical. Just like CEC said themselves, “without magic, were just another pizza place.” I remember the interactive console, blue screen, and all the rest. Studio C today just doesn’t have that magic touch like it did before. I grew up as a kid when duncan was voicing Chuck E., and the show now just isn’t so amazing to watch anyomore. At the same time, I’d have to agree that it would make sense why it is how it is currently. Today’s kids go to chuck e cheese’s for the games, food, live show, maybe even the wifi, but not so much for the show anymore. The only time the showroom ever has an audience is for a birthday, even then people don’t watch the show. I myself am a huge fan of Chuck E. Cheese’s, and I loved watching the show as a kid when it still had that magic touch. It’s sad to see the direction it’s going in, especially since the show itself is what sets CEC apart from the competition. Without it, they’ll be just like every other arcade or pizza place that’s out there. The show is what makes CEC a special place to go to.

I really loved how inspirational Avenger Chuck was in my childhood, one of my all time favorite song from this generation,Keep on Smiling, is still inspiring to me today, I really enjoy re-listening to shows I haven't heard in a long time and I can see the efforts in both the song and the video. The puppets just see to be a cheap way to visuals to a song, unlike the costumes which took time to make the background and storyboards.

Well stated. It's crazy to think that the company has willingly continued this downward spiral, digging their heels in, instead of listening to fans- all the way to bankruptcy. Honestly, if CEC survives long enough for my kids to go, I'm not sure I would even want to take them that often. The store atmosphere seems more mentally-grating for adults, its too bright, too cold, i think GENERIC and STERILE sum it up best. The stores have felt so bland after phase 3; no character, no spirit. The older stores felt warm and welcoming. Softer lighting, different areas sectioned off with walls to give more incentive to explore. Tons of unique and impassioned artwork and trinkets lining the walls, items that were legitimately interesting, I'm lucky to own some of them. And of course, the newer show tapes all sound like some generic kiddie crap you'd find on morning television... As a kid, I felt like Chuck E. and his friends were genuinely my friends. The show dialogue was always so friendly, and Chuck E. would ALWAYS take at least a minute or so after each segment just to give his thanks and appreciation to all the fans. I felt genuinely appreciated and loved. The new Chuck E. might feel more like a "rockstar", sure... but that means acting stuck up and narcissistic like a rockstar too. He's too disconnected from his fans, both the character and the voice actor.

I know I was born in 2001, I've only went to Chuck E, Cheese's 3 times in my life time, 2004, 2007, and 2017. And I've only seen the 2017 shows, with a Studio C Beta, because in 2004, I was playing games, not realizing there was a show room, and it was busy. And in 2007, it was empty, like we were the only ones here, and still didn't know there was a show room. Plus in 2017, when I thought there was no animatronics, the curtains flew open and Studio C Chuck E. was there, I was scared, because he was ugly. I kept hiding behind the ice cream machine every time the curtains open, until I got my Play Pass. Also in 2008, before my show was about to start on PBS Kids, I got a Chuck E. Cheese ad before the show, making me want to go to Chuck E Cheese's, man I loved it. Then in 2012, when I saw the ad, I was miserable, I didn't like it. Chuck E. turned tiny, ugly, and played a guitar! I didn't want to look at it now.

Another thing the Avenger Era did right - getting an appearance in a modern Disney film. A clip from the CEC Entertainment movie Chuck E. Cheese in the Galaxy 5000 plays during the BuzzzTube scene. The movie stars Duncan Brannan as the voice of Chuck E. Cheese, Jeremy Blaido as the voice of Jasper T. Jowls, Chris Sabat as the voice of Munch and Georgia Denney as the voice of Helen Henny. This is a reference and tribute to the team-up between CEC Entertainment and Disney in 1994 when several showtapes were being made by The Walt Disney Company, with filming for the video footage taking place at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Disney's contract expired two years later in 1996, and the shows were made by the entertainment part of CEC Entertainment, which would later be named “Department 18 Productions”. I remember how good the showtapes and stages (I grew up on a Studio C Alpha, wasn't introduced to other stages till much later. Shocked the hell outta me when I saw a 3-stage and the other characters weren't "somewhere in the back" like I used to think 😂) used to be. When the announcer started his introduction for Chuck E. Cheese...all the kids would drop whatever they were doing and flock to the showroom, they used to be that good. Couldn't get me to do nothing else when Chuck E. was singing. Now...they don't even give a reason to care.

Well, I'm glad they haven't retrofitted the animatronics and Studio C bots with the Rockstar face yet. Chuck E. Cheese fell off, and this is coming from someone who's a fan. You also hear too much modern pop music during the showtapes that KZbin's Content ID system can easily pickup whenever you record a store tour (unless you dub the music in of course).

I was born in 2006 and although i was just a little baby/kid back then and hated to be pictures with any type of costume characters besides only chuck e cheese atleast Avenger was there for me and i wish I could have got a picture with him cause once I had a bday of CEC when i turned 5 but those were times when i was scared of him back then and I'm now 15 so i ain't scared of him anymore but with the rockstar one around i was like "I regret this" cause i never ever actually had a great picture with Chuck E.
