What BEGINNER GUITAR should I buy? A SHORT GUIDE with useful tips. // feat. Session Music
This video was filmed aaaall the way back in March 2023 with Pät from ‪@silent-village‬ . It was created thanks to some ideas you guys suggested to me. I break down the most essential guitar models in this video and give you a short overview on what things you can focus on when you want to buy your first guitar! It doesn't feature ALL the knowledge of course, but I didn't want to overwhelm you within 15 minutes. If you have more questions, feel free to drop them in the comments below and I might be able to cover them in a new video! Feedback is always welcome.
But in the end I hope this short guide with equally short tips might give you an idea about what you first guitar should be: YOURSELF!
Feel it, it's like with Harry Potter and the magic wands. You will feel the right instrument when it's in your hands ;) Just listen to the call.
HUGE thanks to Zora from FOX NOIR FILMS for the edit

My first guitar was indeed a black & white Squier Strat. XD I learned I don't care much for Strats, but I had no idea at the time. Buying your first can be so difficult. They all feel strange when you can't play. You don't know about setups. It's tough. Budget guitars are thankfully much higher quality nowadays, and there's amp sims and stuff. Much better options now, and super informative videos from you to help. :) This is going to be a very useful series for a lot of people. Great idea, great advice, and really fun.

A plus point of the Tele that many players of heavier styles miss is how well the sound fits in these styles. I once played one through a PRS MT 15 and it was heaven xD. No pedals no nothing. Do not sleep on Teles. And no I dont mean modded Teles with Humbuckers. The stock Fender ones. The one I tried was a sub 1000€ Mexican one I think

Weight, scale length, nut width, neck width, fretboard radius, neck angle (and related bridge height), and position of the bottom body cutout that influences how the guitar sits in the lap (think sg vs strat) are the main things I look for when buying guitar. Basically ergonomics needs to be right as they are mostly set in stone. Also it has to be black, white or red :)

For a beginner you might want to add - comfy/ergonomic while sitting and learning. Which almost always leads to a strat style body.

Tolles Video.

Any Ibanez with Wizard neck will do. I bought RGA42FM BLF for my third electric. Some will say it's a budget, or entry level guitar. I will say it is a beast. Most comfy guitar I had in my hands. 0:40 Bought this model as well as it is exactly same shape as mentioned RGA42FM BLF. Yet neck is a little bit thicker, but it had to be, cuz of the floyd bridge. Sire guitars are laso bang for buck. Cheap but great. Their LP Goldtop is ridiculous when it comes to neck and carving in body for better access to higher notes. It's basically plays itself.

I have a soft spot for les Paul’s because my first guitar was a Pawn shop les paul but super Strat and strats are beautiful pieces of work I’m looking at a squier Strat 60s reissue model and I love guitars in general I love Vs but it was harder to get comfortable because I haven’t played one in so long and when I had a V I sat really really low for comfort and for it to lock into my leg

Being 6'4 with larger hands, I found that the strat neck is too small. I started on a '88 strat then for my 50th I designed and built my own guitar 7 string 28.625" scale through laminate which sits and feels right when playing. It's designed to play when sitting and has thick neck so I don't get cramp in the hands. Not a beginner guitar. The style of playing is also important - that thinner neck profile will give you a 'faster' lead but I'm more a complex lower riff/chord rhythm player. Good introduction.

GREAT video Jassy🤘🤘🤘! Really informative for the people that want to start out, but don't know where to start in the maze of options in our beautiful world of guitar playing. If I may give one little extra tip for the people reading the comments: Try out the guitar both sitting and standing up! I once made the mistake of buying a great, great sounding SG type guitar and I could play very well with it sitting down. But one time I tried to play a 1 hour live set with it because my go to guitar had issues. The neck dive turned out to be TERRIBLE! I had huge cramps in my left hand afterwards and traded the guitar a short while later for a strat type guitar. So long story short....Try your instrument while sitting down and while standing😊.

😮 you should buy the genre black Gibson looking guitar xD lol although the intonation isn't the best if recorded right does have an incredible tone! However in seriousness I actually recommend the fender black and white telecaster guitar that's worth around $80-$100 u.s.d as that was my first guitar and the intonation/playability/ and the action as well as feel was perfect! And the sound was amazing however the only drawback if one doesn't have a high gain amp or software or vst would be rough playing rock and metal songs anyways showing support and passing by keep being rocking awesome everyone 🤟 😎 👍 😀 🎸🎶🥁🎤🙏🎼p.s correction it was the squire fender strat guitar that cost around 100 dollars but the kit is costly around 300 dollars 😅 expensive for beginners x.x

There is also the Epiphone SG model which is also a beginner guitar and comes in a starter package as well. Also the Les Paul Epiphone is NOT a GIBSON-ISH IT is MADE by Gibson. So are Kramer guitars for that matter. Just like Squire is made by Fender.

Yes, I guess this is just a language barrier where I couldn't express it in a way how it should have been ;) Of course Epiphone is Gibson , Squier is Fender and Gio Ibanez is Ibanez, but as the label is not Gibson, Fender etc. I just used that word.
