This reminds me of second brene brown talk where she mentions that her friend said to her 'your the worst role model ever for vulnerability '. For me it struck a chord that I'm obsessed with self expression and misunderstandings yet I may well be the worst role model for it as I struggle to express myself. You seem to be obsessed, as in a calling, with productivity and work life balance but this behind the scenes info shows you are just figuring it ot too! Fascinating.

Very insightful conversation; especially in the context of a Singaporean male raised by competitive parents in a meritocratic society.

Interesting video. I'm 25 and I just realized i do not want complexities in my life. Or at least as few as possible. And i use to be want to be super succesful and rich. But i realized what comes with that. Now i am willing to accept an average life with minimal complexities.

Everything is possible of course. You are also able to get rich later and focus on health e.g. now. It all depends on what you want. Both is also possible at the same time. It's just nice to be the owner of your own future to my opinion. It's called sovereignty and in America it's normal to have it.

Programmed from childhood if not from any DNA is my thought. Early rejection either at the family table or in the early grades of school that built the warrior ( good at competition) but not the ability to weather..alone ness and singularity

Success is an addictive drug , especially in men , were wired to win, and when we're not winning we feel useless and depressed

Jerry Colona? Wasn’t there one in the 1940’s?

You say (boredom and/or depression) could be something that we hold in our genes, to something that was pushed into our minds as we developed, or as a mental complexity yet to be solved but have you ever considered to be something bigger than yourself? Perhaps maybe you believe in a higher power? God or even Yeshua (Hebrew name) aka Jesus (Greek name)? What if this is a calling from within to be apart of something bigger than yourself but it has to feel this way for us to seek more? If so, I don't think asking with the genuine desire to be apart of this greater whole would be a bad idea.
