We're back on Vancouver's famous North Shore for another Daily Driver Bike Checks! This time Christina headed to Mount Seymour to find out which bikes the Seymour locals are riding.

I have one in the gx build and it is so epic, but my super deluxe is a lemon, has so many problems so probably just going to get an x2

@@levis.9408 im planing to buy new rear shock, so should I consider Super deluxe ultimate or Fox Float X. Good amount said super deluxe is reliable bit also decent amount of people are complaining about that shock. What kind of problems you have with shock?

@@bitumen83 it gushes oil and Due to that the damper can malfunction quite quickly, and there’s no support at all, you fall right through the travel

@@RCKING1 you mean Nicolai developed and build the bike and a geometron sticker was slapped on for the UK market? No hate on geometron, but one should definitely acknowledge german company Nicolai for developing and building those bikes!

it's amazing the quality of the bikes that "popped out"... here in Portugal, for me to get even the cheapest one would take me 5 to 6 years to save the money for it, and by then would be twice the money lol first time with this type of video, was nice. it's nice to have it on the "normal" rider level, not always the same-old-same-old pro rider with top bike. Thanks for the video and the beautiful scenery. cheers

It's taken near pretty rough trails only ridden by decent riders on full squish bikes. And they only pull over riders with expensive maaxis tires since it's their channel sponsor - something they should really be disclosing more obviously.....

First guy said he replaces his handlebars every year “to be safe”. Am I missing something here? I’ve been riding a long time and have never had bars fail me and some I used for a bunch of years.

Especially in roadbiking this is a common sentiment. Even more with carbon. I also don’t do it, but I heard a lot of Roadies talk about it.

@@rolux4853 Yeah when carbon goes it goes quick. Your stem will have replaced your teeth where an alloy bar would likely bend. I wouldn't replace it annually but I absolutely would after a crash or extremely hard landing. Not that I have that kind of money, I'm fine with aluminium everything.

it's a good move if you ride hard. I also do the same with carbon bars, I typically show cracks in them at 18mo so change yearly to be on safe side. I do NOT want catastrophic failure on that part.

@@rolux4853 not a single thing. They ship at 800mm and my old bars were already cut at 780. Aka I’m lazy. Plus if the person who buys my old bike wants 800mm bars they can keep it or cut.

Ah okay I get it. I’m always to lazy adjusting the wheel/bar position again and reinstall all the brakes and shifters. So I just take off the grips, take my rotational pipe cutter and cut them down. Much less work for me 😂 but of course this works only when I want to use the standard bars that come with a bike.

Since 12 speed drivetrains have such narrow chain and cogs, the width difference between shimano and sram is almost negligeable. with a bit of tuning it can work great and more people are doing it because of parts that are unavaible

shifter just cares which cassette you use. 9sp shifter with 9sp cassette, ideally same brand. They're indexed on each other. But both sram and shimano use similar spacings to cram 7/9/12 gears in, and thats why a shimano 9/12sp cassette will probably work on a sram shifter with some dialing in. The indexing is likely similar. From what i can tell; as long as the derailer can accomodate your largest sprocket in the rear, you could theoretically use any 30yr old derailer with any new shifter and cassette, and it'll work. It's just an articulated arm, nothing more.

Every one of these bike check videos, be it regular Joe's or EWS pros, it seems like everyone runs super lower tire pressure... how do you corner with 19 psi without the tire folding???

maybe if they're carbon yeah. As strong as it is, its incredibly brittle. If you get a few slams or high impacts youre beginning to play with fire.

Very true I was just making A Point back on the shore in Them days that’s the sort of bikes you would see every day but imagine riding those bikes on the trials nowadays Short rear end were perfect for the trials on the shore like the Flying Circus and with the super Ts upfront perfect combo

Quite a lot of people do its just a lot of people stick with the stock brakes on their bike or upgrade to a better brake from the same brand as the stock brakes and not a lot of bike company's put maguras on their bikes as the stock brakes

all those dirty filthy innertubes strapped on the bikes.......ever have the fun of fitting a dirty filthy innertube to a wheel while out on a ride? I keep mine in my pack.....

What is really fun is riding without pack sac in my opinion but to each their own :) this tube is strapped on my bike only when traveling and as a emergency last resort, I always carry plugs also
