i love the clacks and growls of the indian myna. I understand that (if you can get one early in their life) they can learn to talk.... I saw one in a pet shop once (was the owners pet) and the mimicking of human talking and laughing was almost scary...theres some interesting yt vids on talking mynas

Well! The brown one was introduced into Australia from India by Australians to control inspect problem, without researching which bird or predator belonging to Australia went missing around because of human behavior changes. It’s not the brown one that is bad, it is mindset of certain human species that is bad :).. perceptions differ you know. But I am glad pesticides were not used by then to cause even more churn to the food cycle.

But common or Indian mynas can talk in India. In their age of 3 or 4 months old, they will start talking once you teach them. Noisy miners can't talk because Noisy miner often have a small brain but mynas are intelligent.

Just to dispel the ignorance of this comment, Common (Indian Myna) ie "the brown one" are in the top 100 most invasive species and a major threat to native species. But don't just take my word (or this ignorant persons comment) do your own research. For example here's what the Aust wildlife society have to say: www.aws.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/resource_Autumn2018-noisy-minor.pdf

We used to have blackbirds all over the place here in the Melbourne suburbs, I don't see them anymore. Actually I saw my first one in ages the other day, hiding behind a pot plant on my front deck being attacked by at least 10 miner birds. I do not like these birds, or the Indian Myna either. The Myna's here just screech like little dinosaurs.

I would like to know why a kookaburra which I know is an introduced species in WA is bad here but OK in the eastern states please? Don't they eat the same foods everywhere? Someone on the WA Birds site said they aren't liked because we have birds here unique to WA but surely that same situation occurs in the east too.. thankyou Im a new subscriber. Please help me.. I like the kookaburra and I say its not their fault they were introduced back in the 1890's..isnt it about time that law was changed??

I hate noisy miners, there is no permission to kill noisy miners, common mynas are native to my backyard, stays quiet and does not attack other birds, common mynas rarely protects pigeons and save other birds, they can also talk, there are two birds that can talk, one is my favourite bird, common myna and hill myna, the hill myna can talk very funny, if you take myna easily, they will be your friend and always come to your backyard peacefully, common myna has no extinction but soon noisy miners will extinct and I'll be happy then our backyard will be safe. Buy an airgun, it's now on online. Give baths to common mynas, they are friendly, and feed them. They will always come to protect your backyard.

Today, there are two wrongly behaviours with the Noisy Miner in my backyard and it's true. It destroyed the common myna's nest and it attacked the pigeon, two times, and the pigeon got hurt on its wing. Please believe me, I know that noisy miners are real pest in my backyard.

Common Pigeons and Indian Mynahs are invasive introduced species and do not belong in Australia. Noisey Miners are a native species. Introduced species result in the destruction of the ecological balance , loss of habitat and extinction of species and need to be eliminated. Whether humans "enjoy" them or not is irrelevant

But common mynas are the most of my favourite bird than any other birds, even I had some pet common mynas. One name is Nugget and another one name is Chickpea. I had them in December 2021 to February 2022, I realise them in my neighbour hood so it is good to remind of common mynas because they are still my favourite but they are native to my neighbour hood but those people who don't like mynas are an idiot.

The Indian Myna bird is a beautiful bird, so smart & clever. Grey = Bad. The noisy native miner is a serial pest, it is so agressive and attacks other birds and humans, it also kills people too. The Indian Myna does not attack humans nor does it attack birds, and there is no CTV footage to suggest that this bird evicts natives from their nests. Its tough out there, and think about it we humans dominate the world, so why cant the birds have the world of their own. The Indian Myna bird is so beautiful and i love this bird more than any bird in the world. The noisy native miner is a dumb, agressive bird and whilst it has the heart of a lion, it has the brain of a pea. I will be calling my local council to pursue legal action in assiting with the elimination of the noisy native honeyeater pest.

This is a joke, right? One pair of Indian Mynah birds spawn (on average) 5-6 juveniles _each year._ Do the math, and you'll realise how scarily out-of-control their numbers are. There's a reason Indian Mynahs are called "Australia's most important pest problem".
