A solid choice! Congrats on your sucess! I have several recurves and long bows but my favorite for hunting is also 50 lbs. I shoot gap with three fingers under the arrow and a shooting glove. I have both wood and aluminum arrows. I always fletch my own. Flu Flu arrows with judo points are my favorite for small game. I hunt Snowshoe Hares, Ptarmigan and Red Squirrels here. For big game I hunt Sitka Blacktail deer and Mountain Goats. I don't hunt Brown Bear but sometimes they hunt me. Ha!

I was so happy to see you finally take that moose! Sweet setup also. I think 50# is the minimum for large game here in Canada and 40# for whitetail. Old timers think you need 60-70# bows to take large game and they are dead wrong. Well tuned arrow and a sharp broadhead are key! Cheers from Ontario

Hey Timer it was rooting for you the whole time, that was so amazing and you killing a moose you have absolutely great skills on hunting, you were definitely one of my favorite on season 11 I was rooting for you to win but I kind of understand why you pulled out it would have been nice to see you win though your Fan. Toni .

The Broadhead that you are using is a right-wing Brodhead and the feathers for your arrow are right wing for a left-handed person horse shooter but the shot was incredible incredible😅

I also was wondering about the distance on your moose shot. I know cameras tend to make objects look smaller and farther. So to me it looked on film 50 plus yds, but guessing and hoping you may have been 30 to 40yds. Also, do you believe it was the same moose you missed earlier?

What was the distance on that shot? looked to be 80 or 90 yards.

Appreciate the overview. However, the singe bevel broadhead you show is a right bevel, not left. Your feathers do appear to be left wing, which will spin the arrow counter clockwise, opposite the turning inclination of the right bevel head. Regardless, it makes little difference. Folks have been using that combination successfully for years.

1:29 the writing is flipped in the video, so what you are seeing with the arrow may also be flipped.

@@FlapjackMcGee Hmmmm. Definitely something weird going on in the pic at the 1:29 mark. The writing is backward, but I also noticed that the decal printing is in opposition to the hand writing. i.e., Damon Howatt is printed upside down, while the handwriting is right side up. It's quite possible the factory erred in placing the decal. If you're right handed, and the U-tube picture of you drawing the bow introducing your quiver/arm guard build, would suggest that you are, then it's likely the entire video image is reversed. For example, the video shows a left hand bow. Also, at 8:13, when you twirl the arrow near your face, turning your hand toward your face would indicate clockwise/right wing rotation if you're using your left hand, but turning your right hand toward your face would be a counterclockwise/left wing motion. Too, the picture of the American flag on your shirt seems to be reversed, as is the lettering on your shirt in some of your other videos. I don't know if that explains it, and it doesn't really amount to a hill of beans anyway. Thanks for a good video.

You guys are correct. Filming with the selfie side of my phone means the picture is reversed. Left bevel heads look like right bevel.
@tonimichaud16763 ай бұрын
Yeah and I definitely like the other bow and arrow.

Everything esp. the lettering is backwards. Try shooting your vids straight instead of selfie.
