I like where this video is heading, but I am going to play devil's advocate. I've drawn the conclusion that you have some people out there who are addicted to abuse. What does this have to do with trusting a brand? So, I was working for a dog care company that had some unfair business practices and many customers complained about it, but they kept coming back. It is not like they didn't have options to go somewhere else. They had quite a lot of options. Is this a matter of trust? Is this a matter of too many options? Is this a matter of pricing and the perception it created because the services were quite expensive? This wasn't a one off situation. Many customer complained. A customer focus company definitly gives a brand credibility and builds trust. It is the fastest way to build trust, but what about those people who keep coming back to get abused when they have options.

I would say customers who go back to get “abused” are just lazy. They’ve always bought from that brand and their parents raised them on that brand, etc. To go with another brand would mean it would take money, time, and research to find a new brand they like. The only way to win over that lazy customer is through people they know, trust, and respect like family and friends who introduce them to the new brand. The only way to become a brand that gets recommended by people they trust is simply by becoming a trustworthy and honest brand through actions.

It comes down to what people value most... I would suggest that convenience and/or price are being prioritised over quality service in this case... it can sometimes happen though its an exception to the rule
