Picking someone simply because of the color of their skin, even in the face of overwhelming evidence that the other person is superior, is clear cut racism. Racism is power. One race, in power, keeping another race from being judged equally, given equal opportunities etc. Black women have the power in women's basketball and they are trying to steal an award from Caitlin Clark, a white woman, that she has earned. Dawn Staley, a black woman, is one of the most powerful women in women's basketball with tremendous reach and influence. This is racism.

It is interesting to see so many white folks get so angry when they watch what they perceive is racism in this one instance. Perhaps now they understand in a very small way how people of color have been treated on the regular for centuries. They are angry because they realize now how racist oppression feels. Imagine the pain of racism when it affects more than a game.

question is..... Where do all of angel reese's rebounds come from? Around 42% of them are offensive rebounds and why does she get so many offensive rebounds? She misses a lot of gimmie shots around the rim and creates rebounding opportunities for herself, so this attests more to the inability of her opponents to properly block out after shots. Where do Caitlin's come from? Creating rebounds on the defensive end of the court because 93% of her rebounds come on the defensive side.

Reese is what the league has been for ages. Clark is what the league needs to become. That’s really the only reason i can see it being close. Clark was flirting with triple doubles before she finally got it and i wouldn’t be surprised to see her get at least 3 more before the season ends. Turnovers will diminish… what is the stat to date and then let’s compare the number for the last 17 games… hey Brett Farve had the most InTs in history (maybe still does) but he was amazing and fun to watch… the greats always try to put the ball where no one else might think - but that results in turnovers. I’ll take 3 turnovers for 1 highlight play anyday- as a new fan of the W… I watched a little a number of years ago but this reminds me of 1996 and Tiger… remember in the end if her spark just gets people to look at the game- mission accomplished.. I picked up a club and the n found myself trying to get tix to PGA events when as a kid I mentally equated golf as a white only sport… and it kind of was…

other aspects to consider: Last year, Indiana finished in 10th place in the league. Currently they are 7th. Chicago finished 8th last year and are currently 8th. Six different networks have had record viewership for games including Indiana this year. Haven't heard a mention of any viewership records for Chicago games that did not include Indiana as a participant. At last report, Indiana has averaged almost 17k in home attendance in 2024, which is a record. Visiting teams have also had record attendance for games with Indiana of just over 17k I believe these facts combined with the stat line make her ROY without a question. In my mind, ROY is a person who has the greatest impact on the League as a whole not just someone who puts up big stats although the stats are a part. Caitlin's stats certainly aren't shabby. Her stats are competitive with many veterans and are better in some cases. One criticism of her game is the turnovers. I believe we will see those drop as the season continues. She is acclimating to the game and her teammates are understanding her game better. I saw many of them get surprised early in the season with passes. The other fair criticism of her game is her defense. It's not great at this point, but I would expect it to get better as the season and seasons continue. My 2 cents.
