True, just learning it myself for free!😍 I did see, however, more turorials done in after effects, but I am trying to do the stuff from AE in DR. Green screen and it's controls are really straightforward and easy. It's the effects like "superhero landing" and "cutting limbs away" stuff that I'd like to learn in DR.

This is exactly what PhaseOne with Capture One did. And than ... they skipped the express version for sony. and than ... the Upgrade from express (free) to Full Version for 1 specific brand went from 99€ up to .... ... 249€!!! 00:13 🎮 The video is sponsored by Nvidia, showcasing a Razer Blade 17 with an Nvidia RTX 3080 TI laptop GPU for enhanced performance in creative applications like DaVinci Resolve. 01:20 💻 DaVinci Resolve offers a free version with no catch, but requires a decent system to run. It's recommended to have a device with a dedicated graphics card for optimal performance. 02:03 🖥 The free version supports hardware-accelerated encoding for faster rendering, but only with one GPU. The paid studio version allows for multiple GPUs. 02:44 🔄 Free version allows unlimited usage and all future upgrades and updates are included. It can be used offline without any online DRM requirements. 03:27 🚫 Watermarks appear in the free version only when using Studio-only features, providing a clear indication of where the watermark will be applied. 03:40 🖼 The free version has a maximum resolution limit of Ultra HD (3840x2160) for both timeline and export quality, but can import higher resolution footage. 04:09 📏 Custom aspect ratio timelines are available in the free version, allowing for creative video formatting (landscape, portrait, square, etc.). 04:35 🎥 While higher frame rate footage can be imported, the free version is limited to a 60 frames per second export capability. 05:17 📷 The free version is primarily designed for consumer-level 8-bit footage and may not handle higher bit depths as effectively. 06:13 🎬 Transitions, titles, and visual effects in the free version are similar to those in the paid studio version. Some effects, like noise reduction, are limited tothe studio version. 07:38 🌈 Color grading capabilities in the free version are extensive, offering control over highlights, shadows, contrast, colors, saturation, and more. 09:45 🔊 The Fairlight system for audio controls, including effects like noise reduction, compression, and pitch adjustments, is available in the free version. 11:47 📤 The free version allows for exporting in various formats with control over quality settings like bitrate. I used the free version for a couple of years alongside a prosumer (it reckoned) video editor, which later went subscription. I bought the Speed Editor with 'free' Studio included. I then dropped my old software. I probably wouldn't have paid £280 for Studio. After enlarging my C partition on my SSD, for some reason Resolve reverted to the free version. I continued working on a project, but I was shocked to see the 'watermark' appear on many parts of the video. I had no idea I used the extras so much. Studio is much better, even for a keen amateur, than the high quality free version. Whether it is worth the money depends on how much disposable you have. I paid £290 for the Speed Editor (excellent bit of kit - wouldn't be without it) and Studio. A bargain. I'd like to try the DaVinci keyboard, but the price is out of reach for me. For information: there was no problem in upgrading to Studio the second time. I downloaded it after entering the code, although I had to delete the free version first. I'm a big fan of Resolve. I had no trouble adjusting to the interface, the same problems with all changes of video editing software, and I've used a few. But I'd suggest neither is the best choice for beginners. Lots of 'How-to' videos on KZbin from very knowledgeable and helpful people like yourself, Alex. Thanks so much for your efforts.

@MrAlexTech Wow, the GPU is now supported with the Free version? That's great! I switched to the Studio version about 2 years ago and was amazed at how much better the experience was for me. As a gamer, I had an older CPU (i7 6700k) but upgraded my GPU every two years (2070 Super), so my GPU was much stronger and more modern than my CPU. With the Free version, I always had to create proxies and render them before I could have a smooth editing experience. I had to convert H265 to H264 with Handbrake before I could use it. But when I switched to the Studio version, my speed increased by a factor of 8 or even 10. My GPU was that much faster than my CPU, and the Studio version was utilizing it. Now I could edit without proxies, even in 4K, and use H265 directly from my cameras, resulting in a much faster workflow. It even made me rethink my decision to buy a new computer for 2 years. So, it's really great that the Free version now supports the GPU as well!

You said, that a RTX 3080Ti would be a great choice. On the other hand: a RTX 3090 is only a little more expensive and has double memory but only insignificantly more CUDA-cores. What do you think is more important: graphics memory or the amount of CUDA-Cores? My current system runs o a GTX750Ti 4GB which is quite demanding when working with 4K-footage😵💫

Good Q. I wish someone would have answered it by now. I'm no expert on the matter, but I would recommend the 3090 if you are a professional and you do a lot of editing. Otherwise, a lesser card, like the 3070, 3070, 3080 or 3080TI should suffice.

Thank you so much, man! Im downloading it right now. Hope my computer can run it! It seems it will, but I'll only know for real when trying to actually open and run the thing. Anyhow, thanks again. Your video actually made me decide what to finally do on that regard. (I confess I was even thinking about running a cracked version of some other software, but now I don't think I really need to do any of that)

The only way to get the features is only by paying full price right? Isnt there a way like a subscription like Adobe Creative Cloud?

I have a love/dislike relationship with Davinci Resolve since I came across the software some years ago. When I first installed it on a somewhat older laptop, the footage was very choppy. However I saw great promise. Unfortunately could not use the software. Fast forward some years later, purchased a faster laptop with Davinci Resolve partially in mind. First time installed, the footage played with ease! A few years later, here I am again with more or less the same issue after multiple software upgrades. It takes so long for the projects to load and playback is choppy again. Can something be done about this? I'm just saying. Otherwise I still thank Blackmagic for the free software. It's just not usable unfortunately.
