As a rangers fan this is a coaching issue, I saw the same in 2022 and the same last year when Carolina was swept by the panthers. Rod has to get the message across to be more intentional with your shots, you have maybe the most speed of any team in the playoffs and are not using it to get the best shots you can. As for the rangers yes it’s scary when you guys are flying around but the rangers are very opportunistic and almost calculate a goal instead of just throwing everything at the net

Every power play, they just need to pull their goalie…. Seems to energize them

I definitely think, outside of the power play, it's how the defense plays. Their defensemen are a bit more versatile than average from what I've seen in the league lately, and they tend to open up lanes of visibility for Shesterkin. They also end up having more chances to make mistakes and recover faster from them because of their trust that Shesterkin will always kill the puck. That's how it was with Henrik, and that's how it is now.

What can the Canes do? Stop blind passes to the middle in the O zone. Tie up your man in front of the net. Avoid the idiotic and unnecessary penalties. Take a cue from Svetch and actually take the aggression to the Rangers. Kill penalties as they did last game, and most importantly, Just take your first line and put it out on the PP. It's so broken, don't even treat the Powerplay like a powerplay.

When you put so many easy shots on Shesterkin early it just warms him up and helps get him in the groove. Then one or two of those easy shots bounces wrong and they get a couple of 2 on 1s. All the energy you expended is for not and you're worn down by the end of the game. Imo.

They did this in 2022, they’re one of the fastest teams and control the puck but just throw anything and everything at the net. They need to be more intentional with their shots and opportunistic

The problem with the Hurricanes is their special teams. Literally their even strength, 5 on 5 or 4 on 4, is better than the Rangers. If the Hurricanes can just score one goal on the power play, stop passing around the perimeter constantly and GET INTO THE SLOT, get infront of the net. One goal on PP in any of these games and the Hurricanes would be up 3-0

This is the absolute truth man. I hate it. Literally 1 PP goal in each game and we are at minimum up 2-1 in the series.

@pingamalinga absolutely. Hurricanes shooting themselves in the foot by going ZERO for 16 on the PP. And giving up a short handed goal.

5 on 5 goals are 7-8 in favor of CAR. Only a 1 goal difference So how do you figure they are better then the Rangers at 5 on 5????

Yes, the perimeter passing as slow as it is eats clock and produces zero angles in their passing lanes. It’s difficult to watch them pass the puck for 90 seconds and create zero shots.

Canes dominated the 1st period and 8 minutes of the 2nd....problem is u cannot keep that pace for the whole game....

Carolina is onenof those analytics darlings who dont have what it actually takes. They do not get meaningful net front presence. They do not get into the slot often enough. They take a lot of shots, put a shockingly low percentage on net and then the canes fairhful just jerk eachother off about shot attempts and posession metrics. Great for regular season, without an actually GOOD and consistent goalie its not very useful in the playoffs.

There’s nothing they can do! They’ve thrown their absolute best at the NYR and have come up short each time. They’re only hope is if Shesterkin has an off night which we all know is unlikely

There's nothing the canes can do to win because they're no match for the Rangers. They've given it their all and havent moved the rangers one bit. Just like every other team in the NHL they dont stand a chance. This is our year.

Well the scores have been 4-3, 4-3, 3-2, not 4-0, 4-0, 3-0. The Rangers are up and they’ve scored on the PP 4 times and the PK once. The Hurricanes have scored -1 on the PP and given up 4 goals on the PK. I agree that the Rangers have won the first three games, you’re correct. However, they have not blown them out. Yes, Igor is one the top goaltenders in the world. Best of luck moving forward to game four.
