I can still hardly believe that during the 3 years I lived in Oslo, my hands touched the money note just a couple of times and that exactly is when my daughter breaks a tooth and waits for the "tooth fairy" to exchange it with ~50 NOK (5 $) during the night. So I get some notes and put under her pillow when she is sleeping . Any idea if the tooth fairy will be able to use credit cards in next year's 😁

@@nigelniessen3101 Food has the same price in all parts of Norway - but it is much cheaper rent - electricity and lower social expenses for companies located in the Arctic. Also lower taxes and VAT on some things. Building materials and cars, on the other hand, are more expensive. Fish is of course much cheaper - as the fish comes from the western country and up to the North Cape.

If you live in Norway, compared to Canada where some features are the same, you live in paradise, I live in a corporate hell. Also, I write fiction, everything I find in Norway lends me inspiration, this inspiration leads to big taxes in Canada. These taxes lead to supporting corporations responsible for oil, gas and coal extraction which are toxic to the environment, as well, peoples health. But what seems to annoy me just as much is the tolerance towards, and supply of class A drugs, such as Heroin, Cocaine and Meth Amphetamine. If you are in Norway, you could tell me, does Norway have these same social issues?

Easy to get your money back in your account. Most grocery stores have "bank in store". They take your money - you tap your card and use your code. For the most part it is in your account at the same moment. Norway is the country in the world with the least printed money - under $ 60 per. person. Everything is digitized. We also have Vipps between Norwegian accounts - where you "Vipps" money from yourself to your friend or child in a second.

5:00 Exactly! Aker brygge is one of the most "posh" areas in all of Norway. If your address is Aker bygge that means you are a successful person. Everything there is targeting people with a little extra money. It's a nice place for tourists to look around (it used to be a shipyard) but not the place to go if you want your money to last. As with other towns and cities, one must leave the tourist hotspots behind and look for cheaper restaurants and stores in the less popular streets.

I'm sure there are stuff to do there that does not cost money, like some museums, conserts maybe ... And when I lived in Oslo we (my friends and I) used to get tickets to NRK shows because they used to be free... sometimes we just went anyway without tickets and ususally got in anyway :-P and then phone home after the show to let family up north remember to watch that show when it is aired... to check us being there :-P But yeah... Oslo is pretty expensive city, and as I tell the youth here.... being broke in Oslo sucks !!!! being broke here usually means you still manage to do some shopping (ask for credit at the store, food and stuff) or attend at other things like even Cinema ... :-P if the people there are in a nice mood.

Even though there was massive inflation here and food prices went up 20-30% . But living conditions are worsening in Hungary. Norway seems a nice place to live. I just wonder, can you find work if you speak English and German well? I like learning languages, and of course I would learn Norwegian as well, over time, I am just curious. So do you speak mostly English there or Norwegian?

@@pile333 It can be small diffrences but you wont find any gasoline 95 for that price. 10 euros for 12 litres is bullshit or a misunderstanding.

US$10 is ZAR156.48 (South African Rands). This can buy either a massive burger and chips that no normal person can finish, 6 or 7 pies, or 3 light lunches.

It has bad crime in the major cities and the politics aren't very nice, but along the south coast (also known as the 'Garden Route') it is nice and relatively peaceful and there are some nice beaches and sunsets to see:) Also some nice nature walks (those you have to walk in big groups for safety though). If you give me shout if you visit here I will be happy to show you around my area!
