Things you missed (editing if i find more): 1) you don't need to be boosting in order to initiate a grind 2) much like boosting, dodging on the skimmer does not deplete the boost bar. 3) Unlike with a sparrow, it is possible (though more tech-like) to do a sharp, or even an almost-stationary 180° turn while still boosting if you dodge while turning the camera. It is easier to do almost-stationary 90° turns while boosting as well - another thing the sparrow cannot do.

yeah the dodge is amazing for sorta resetting your momentum in a way. if you're turning a corner then boosting stops you from slamming sideways into the wall. dunno how this guy missed that

For the event, both the sparrow and the Skimmer have infinite boost energy for boosting and dodging. ( most players haven't even noticed the sparrow has infinite boost right now yet) When the event ends, both Sparrow and Skimmer will go back to depleting boost energy when boosting or dodging. (it's in the patch notes) It remains to be seen if the community still agrees that the Skimmers are actually that much better than the sparrows, once the infinite boost wears off.

@@TDTProductions funny build idea for bakris: stasis primary (I have a really good horror story), the hunter glaive, and an eager edge sword. Use the shatterdive and the sword for funny shatterskate kills, primary for mid to long range to build up your ammo, then go ham with blinks into glaive melee after blasting them once for a shield break Dunno how this works and wanna try it for myself once I get the glaive

The dodges are for quickly changing direction, like making 90 degree turns. So, they aren't great at moving you side to side or really dodging attacks, but they are crucial in maintaining momentum through sharp turns. They've also got different animations depending on if you're on the ground or in the air.

Not sure if you realized yet but shotguns now have “glint” when you hold them out, also, I amble to jump off a the skimmer mid Air after grinding WITHOUT touching the ground, it might be a bug that makes you unable to jump off

Would just like to add this: You absolutely CAN recover boost after doing a trick on a skimmer. Was testing it out yesterday and got it pretty consistently. You have to use your jump and then use one of the side tricks. Time it right and it recovers your boost.

Just remember that there is nothing stopping you from chamging to a sparrow mid flight. Its quite easy and makes gaining height with no floor below you really easy with a sparrow fly. Additionally, you can also jump off your skimmer and jump with the skimmer at the same time to have a skateable ledge for shatter/wellskating. Only works on the ground tho.

If you have something boosting your momentum the grind is faster, I haven't tested it other than doing it 1 time by accident, but I went into those grav cannons on Nessus, grinded and was WAY faster. The skimmer is a little longer than a sparrow, so it'll collide with harsher inclines/hills and hard stop instead of climbing them like a sparrow does. And there was a third thing, but that left my brain so... no third thing.

Don’t remember the exact inputs but if you do a lateral dodge and a boost right as you get off it’ll end the pseudo animation lock earlier and you’ll be able to summon another one to chain skimmer fly

the dodge (also doesnt take energy) will reset your momentum! if i go around a corner ill face where i want to go and dodge away from the wall my momentum is going towards and itll keep you going straight. Also good for not taking fall damage and blowing up your skimmer just like the sparrow

Can’t afford buying the Gjalla Skimmer, finances not looking good this month unfortunately, so I decided that I am going to grind the hell out of the quest to get this skimmer, I tried the 10% nightfall thing, doesn’t work for me and I have trouble soloing it I have tried it a few times but last night I only got to the end, boss fight but get obliterated, so I decided I am going to focus on the Win Packs, so far I have 2/3 and if I get 1 more I’ll have it! There is NO Way in Hell! I am going to miss on a fucking a hover board!!! I have been grinding for hours…. Non stop… but it’s so going to be worth it! 😄

If you're on Hunter the packs are the easiest way. For the top 10%, remember to Emote before you Finisher every Orange Bar and Champ and it'll be easier if you do it as close to after Weekly Reset as possible as it will be at its lowest then.

PSA: If you're a hold crouch user tie the hold and toggle crouch to the same button input and it will enable both the regular hold crouch gameplay and the air grinding without any drawbacks

You can still grind with hold to crouch... Sort of. It seems that if you bind both hold to crouch and and toggle crouch to the same button press you'll be able to maintain the hold crouch behavior while regaining the skimmer grind.

Loving the use of Live & Learn! I would say though, for future reference, that Sonic Riders music could also fit really well, considering it's a racing game revolving around hovering vehicles, primarily hoverboards, called Extreme Gear. Just... don't touch Free Riders. The motion controls are ass, and I still don't know how I was able to unlock Super Sonic with them fighting against me all the time.
