Thank you Loralei. I'm very sorry the tank thief got you. Such robbers are likely unarmed and don;t want to hurt anybody but still it's invasive and one feels violated afterwards. I would still not hesitate to rent where you did. Looks very nice and I LOVE what you did with the design of your interior living space. Looks very comfy and homey. And the fact you have a convenience store downstairs and are only 5 minutes from town which itself is not too far from the province's capital looks like you hit the jackpot! Makes for a very nice and dignified retirement. And you made a very excellent point that at $350/month you can then take the savings to turn your apartment into a luxury apartment. :D The prices you got on those upholstery and curtain fabrics are normal for Panama but for the U.S. you would have paid an arm and a leg. Your couch came out awesome!! I loved your colour schemes too. Very warm and welcoming. Regarding the hiking boots, you might have better luck finding them in David or Santiago, and most definitely in the capital of Panama. That said, I must say, I once did buy a pair of hand-made boots next door in Costa Rica from a shoe-maker and true they were not "name brand" but they lasted me for many a year and they were comfy.

@PanamaRelocationTours Жыл бұрын
Most landlords prefer to rent for 6 month minimum. If you want a short term lease, airbnb is best. In the highlands, electricity is rarely over $25. Gas is about $5 a month. Water is $100 a YEAR. Internet is $45.
@victorlionelnazaire685 Жыл бұрын
@@PanamaRelocationTours There is a market for 6 months or less rentals ( snowbirds, Panama short-term residents who need to go back home for financial,family or tax reasons). Boy Boquete is so appealing! I wonder how you move your furniture etc to Panama, wonder how expensive. It's on my to-do list to research that too
@fanfare1004 жыл бұрын
Most people sell most of what they have (unless it has extreme sentimental value) and buy their furniture in Panama where it can be significantly less expensive. My mom & dad didn't only buy their furniture, they had it hand made by furniture makers who are also expert carpenters. The small company was called "Cowes", I believe. They did an excellent job and something like that would have been cost prohibitive in the United States unless you had money pouring out your ears. lol It's also not worth it to ship your car to Panama. Unless you're planning on specifically buying American, all other cars can be bought for much less and the taxes are much much lower on economy cars. My sis bought a brand new Mitsubishi for less than $13,000 (brand-spankin-new & with a nice stereo with bluetooth) and her monthly payments are $188/month.

How would you recommend finding a rental unit in the range of $300 to $400/ month? Are there furnished apartments available?
@PanamaRelocationTours2 жыл бұрын
the ONLY way to find rentals in that price range is being in town talking to people. I just helped a lady get a furnished 1 bedroom with all utilities included for $400 in a great location.

Are the price of rent in 2022/2023 still the same or it got pricier in general?

Prices are generally the same. More in some areas and less in other areas.

Any more units like that available?
@PanamaRelocationTours4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a similar unit available in the same building for $350. And I know of one bedroom for $250 and a huge two bedroom 2 bath $400

I’ve got to get over there and look around. 64 now and ready to retire. Single and no kids, might as well give it a go!

@@PanamaRelocationTours I didn't hear mention, are these furnished or not? Her place is beautiful so I assume it's all her own furniture.

what a beautiful place!! I haven't seen any info on the changes for the visa requirements. Will you be doing a video on that? I know the requirements for the retirees has not changed. But there was some talk about the 'friendly nations' visa being changed. If there are big changes, it will be more difficult? more expensive? I have over 4 years before SS can start so I want to see if that is an option for an early retirement.

Nice! $350 is affordable for us poor folk. I would have thought that Boquete is much more expensive.

in Boquete, rentals range from $200 to $2500+ a month. There's something for everyone!
