Good explanation of a thing we will all encounter sooner or later😮. I’m guilty of forgetting the piston before. I wondered why the pressures were off and it didn’t cool worth a crap

I’ve left the valves opened once and flipped out for a few seconds. Haha so don’t feel bad. That must have sucked though. As a one man show for many years, I know the anxiety of being there late with problems after a full day or replacing a system. But driving home late with a fat check was worth it 😌 cheers man

You had me laughing so hard at the end. I did the same exact thing when I got my testo manifold. Hooked up and was like what’s going on. Thanks for another good video Zack.

I only have nightmares about some of the crapyer jobs and the mistakes I made under fatigue. There is nothing better when the HO is breathing down your neck and you're trying to think clearly. No pressure.

Glad you mentioned the manifold. I think a lot of us have had that moment where we’re like what the hell is going on and then you’re like duhh I’m a bonehead lol.

When I bought my current house and the new unit was not working well. The liquid line was sweating from the outside unit to the evaporator. When it was opened up the piston was never installed.

So, if we don't keep the guage Open.... How do we check lines Pressure ❓❓
@james107395 ай бұрын
I had that problem or similar pressures with one of those fancy mobile systems and i though it was a blown out orifice tube but it was still kinda cooling and now im replaying the compressor but the orifice tube was pretty clogged up because i used rtv on a gasket well it is what it is

Can’t you take a temp difference on the reversing valve lines?

If you have equal pressures, no matter the cause, it's probably not gonna be a good day.

I thought that a compressor’s job was to move and compress refrigerant. If you then have a reversing valve that is stuck and refrigerant is bypassing through the valve, that would cause the compressor to move more refrigerant which intern would cause the compressor to do more work and draw a higher amperage.
