The main question here is whether the pulmonary hypertension is primary (meaning due to issues with the lung vasculature) or secondary to another disease (e.g. lung clots, or left heated heart disease). The differentiation is important as it impacts treatment.

That means that the estimated heart mass/weight when compared to the body surface area, is increased. This generally reflect heart muscle thickening rather than dilatation. Your doctor who follows you would be able to help you, as he/she has seen and examined you.

Hello doc, i have dilated cardiomyopathy with lvef 28% and 4.7 dilated heart.i have icd device implants in my chest. I follow proper medication as well.ICD was implanted in aug 2022 and along with that stem cell therapy is also done. I have no symptoms now of the disease. As stated in my other response, Chest X-Ray is not a reliable indicator of heart enlargement. An echocardiogram is the reliable indicator.

I had an electrocardiogram recently done, and on the reading it appeared as a possible left atrial enlargment, should I be concerned. That blood pressure is very high. I suspect that the cardiologist is stating that the heart is thickened/ enlarged secondary to the high blood pressure. Treating the blood pressure, and starting appropriate medications will certainly help your mother's heart.
