How long does a stent last
@DoctorBoladCardiology7 күн бұрын
Generally, the current drug coated stents can last without obstruction for many years / forever, with the risk of significant narrowing in the stent on the long term of less than 10%.

But there is one small branch besides one of artery is blocked where stenting procedure also cant be done. Please reccomend what to do?
@DoctorBoladCardiology8 күн бұрын
It is not uncommon for individuals with coronary artery disease to have small vessel disease, in which a stent can not be placed due to the small caliber size. This is best managed medically with cardioprotective medications. Your doctor who performed the angiogram would be the best person to advise you.

Hi Dr Bolad, i would like to start going to the gym to do cardio, however i am scared to as i have not done exercise for nearly 20 years +, over this time my diet has been poor. I am worried that if i do go, i will have a heart attack as im so unfit. How should i approach this. Thank you

I suggest that you start slowly, perhaps initially with walking longer distances and eventually do supervised training with a qualified person. If you get symptoms of chest pain or undue shortness of breath, then you will need to consult your physician.

@DoctorBoladCardiology8 күн бұрын
The fact the the ECG and stress test are normal are reassuring. With heart failure, you get symptoms of shortness of breath either with mild exertion or at rest. Do you have these symptoms. If you do, then you might suggest to your doctor to possibly have an ultrasound scan of the heart (an echocardiogram).

Narrowing of stent is unfortunately a recognized complication. Regarding LM treatment, this really depends on many factors, and I suggest that you discuss with your father's doctor the options.

im 23 . at 21 i foolishly indulged in amphetamines for a brief moment in my life. on one occasion, I had shortness of breath after consumption combined with anxiety due to watching videos on how drugs destroy your life and i thought i just had a heart attack. ironic i know. The shortness of breath went away just minutes later. A couple of days later i started suffering from chest pain. it went on for a couple of months until i went to the hospital. they did a chest x ray and said i was fine. went again few months later and they took blood tests. the troponin levels are fine but my cholesterol was slighty elevated and said it wasnt due to my drug use(most likely genetic)and was given statins for it for a month. i always recently found out my bp has always been slightly elevated even before my drug use based on my medical records. its clear i dont have a very bright cardiovascular system even though im a very athletic guy with a high school background in athletics. my chest pain has been gradually getting better over the months and even more so when i recently started exercising. it compleletly goes away during high intense training but returns very midly with rest. my perfomance is higher than the average individual. my bpm is below 60. im mentally broken and confused on whats up with my now mild chest discomfort when in resting state, and if i sustained any permanent damages to the heart despite the blood tests giving some reassurance. i have a paranoid and obsessive personality and im not sure if ive become health paranoid or hyperaware. the best the doctor could give me was that im genetically at higher risk for cardiovascular disease and my drug use exerberated the issues that would have eventually occured in the later future if left unattended. im just grateful i now know where i stand with my health and have discovered this early. I have already started living the cleanest lifestyle for my longevity and quality of life however im still kinda bothered with what was really goin on with my chest.

How many stents are you able to have
@DoctorBoladCardiology25 күн бұрын
There is no particular number. However, we try to limit the number nd length of stents so that they not cover the whole artery. If extensive stenting is needed, then bypass surgery would be an option instead of stenting.

By employing these resonance gadgets, one can get rid of lipids. I do not know the advantages and disadvantages of optical resonance vs vibrational resonance.

@@DoctorBoladCardiology Please answer me when you have time! I'm going to try "big pucture", I don't know the details because I'm a patient, not a doctor! One year ago I had chest pains and went to the hospital! The doctors said that I had several heart attacks and that two of my arteries were blocked! I was in the first hospital for seven days, they gave me five or six different medicines, I was constantly on machines and they gave me a blood thinner! On the seventh day, they tried stents, but the Dr. said that my situation was very complicated and sent me to a big hospital! and I was there for seven days! They told me that the option is a heart transplant because my heart only works 10%! I refused! I didn't want to receive the corona virus vaccine! They let me go home with 6 medicine! Entresto, Eliquis etc! I had a Life West monitor for a couple of months! I lost weight (I was 245 pounds now 225) after a few months I had an ultrasound and the clot in my heart was gone! Blockages are gone! In the last few months, I had a nuclear test, a nuclear pat scan and another ultrasound! My heart was working 10%, now it works 40%! However, the Doctor wants to implant stents in December in three places! They say that I have recovered, that I am improving, but those places that were torn are no longer in their normal size! The cardiologist says that if we install stents, the blood flow will be like before! I trust the doctors, but obviously I improved the situation with medication and a proper diet! I'm afraid that I won't harm my health with stents because I'm making progress?
