Thank you Mr. Ramdayal! This is the same boat I am in right now. I want to switch my IT path to Cyber(have mostly help desk job experience so far) and am close to registering for a 10-month Cyber boot camp at a local university. I'm 37, so a little intimated that I'm too old. However, if I may say, I found you on Udemy and your hands on, especially with A+(I also purchased your SY-601 but haven't started it yet) has been THE most detailed of all the instructors I have ever taken. Thanks for what you do!

Spot on! A good foundation it's important in every aspect. In my 25-year career, I've taken these exact steps. Got my a+ and net+. Worked a few years and then got my security+ from the experience I got on the job. Next I about 2 years obtaining the mcse using the security path. After 5 or 6 years after that I got my cissp. Great video. When I'm hiring, I look for this path and not for people that go directly into security. I've had a bad experience is hiring people without a foundation.

This is the realist advice I’ve seen thus far… everyone else is saying go straight into Security+ even for beginner entering into the field. Ugh.

Hello Mr. Ramdayal, Thanks for the video. I passed my Security + without taking A+ and Network +. I bought your Security+ course at Udemy and it helped me a lot to pass it. I am in the market now and actively looking for a job especially roles like SOC Analyst, Threat Intelligence Analyst, Incident Response, Vulnerability Analyst. I have applied more than 500 jobs so far but no luck yet. I have a IT certificate in Computer Information Systems and 2 years of experience. What do you recommend for me to land a job in the IT?

My B.S was in Psych and my current occupation is Spanish Teacher. I wish to switch into Cybersecurity so I obtained my Comptia Sec+ and In my spare time I experiment with VirtuablBox, Kali Linux, Wireshark, and command line. I have applied for numerous "junior cyber security analyst" type positions only to be told "you have no relevant experience." If this keeps up, I plan to add credentials to my resume. Which would help more, getting the Pentest + or pursuing a Masters in IT from an online college? Please advise what you would do in my shoes. Many thanks.
