David DiMuzio Agree this is brilliant and each of them have earned their place in music, country too. Colbie Caillat California native, songwriter and musician who’s well known by most and she’s known and worked with Jason Reeves since her career started. Jason of Iowa is singer songwriter who wrote and won awards for her songs Bubbly and I Never Told you, and more. Jason who is married to Nelly Joy aka Danelle Leverett of Texas is too a singer songwriter. She was half of the country duo The JaneDear Girls. Danelle’s has been writing for Kelly Clarkson, Big and Rich, and Colbie to name a few in Nashville. Lastly Justin Young is an American singer popular on the Hawaiian contemporary music scene, and he opened for Cassadee Pope. He’s engaged to Colbie Caillat. Here’s two couples, and all 4 put their amazing talents together, their songs are well written and harmonies are amazing. Doesn’t matter to me where they’re born, raised or currently live, as we all know Hollywood & Nashville are similar places and artists typically travel between East and West Coast, they’re more a like than different.

They want to write, collaborate, sing and perform. It's what they do. It's who they are. I've been around the music block a few times myself and as they say "This ain't my first rodeo". Even in this sarcastic, superficial, mean spirited time that we find ourselves in today, the cream still rises to the top. You just have to be persistent, patience, and don't give up. I just saw Gone West live on Saturday night, outdoors at Mystic Lake in Minnesota. I had never heard of them before. Now I'm a big fan! A year ago when this was performed at the Troubadour (God I hope these venues can survive!), you could go to any big name country show at Staples or the H'wood Bowl and not hear anything better than this band - Gone West is musically and vocally superb. But it's the songwriting that stands out. So many artists in the country genre (and it's 300+ sub-genres) don't know how to write a decent song anymore. The Gone West album is loaded with beautiful songs with sly hooks and simple, memorable melodies. The first time I heard this song, the opening didn't catch; I was thinking this was just another country ballad. Then the chorus hit. Then my divorce years ago came to mind. The lyrics merged with reality and I was immersed in the song, the dreamy harmonies and such a easy flow about it. Instantly, yesterday, I became a big fan. I hope live music returns soon. I wish you all the best in this wacky music business.

First saw Colbie Calliat in East Stroudsburg in PA when she opened for the Goo Goo dolls. I did not hear them announce her name so I thought she was a local kid from the high school or university. She was up there with no backdrop just singing with the voice of an angel. Her voice is those one in a million that has such a tone that it is impossible not to be mesmerized. This song is no different and with a band that compliments her voice well so happy she is back out front with new music.

hind sight and seeing those glances back and forth makes you understand that this song was very personal and the song they put out later is the conclusion of this song. Beautiful song and harmonies but painful when you know where the lyrics came from. I first saw Cobie when she was put on tour with the goo goo dolls. I thought it was a local kid on stage because she had not backdrops and it was just her singing if I recall correctly and that voice is magical. A few days later I heard bubbly on the radio and realized who I saw. Her voice has a tone that you just cannot get enough of it. Sorry this group ended because they made some great songs.
