I prefer Peruvian Food by a long shot. Peruvian Food although very underrated, is very delicious, literally everyone loves Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and French. And all those countries visited Peru and created fusion cuisine, creating legendary dishes like arroz chaufa, Chifa (Chinese fusion), Nikkei Cuisine (Japanese fusion), Green Spaghetti (italian fusion). By fusions, I mean the food has been influenced by other nations dish types, but the dish itself is still Peruvian. Peru has the sea coast, Great for seafood. They have the Andes, home to The Legendary Inca Empire, who domesticated Potatoes, Corn, and other Andean Domesticated Foods. And also the Rainforest, home to exotic Peruvian foods, whether it’s bugs or big Amazonian fishes. I recommend you look it up, but trust me, Peruvian by a long shot. Comparing it to Mexican, Peru has more variety, they have good resources for food, they have a lower obesity rate, and it’s a lot. I’m starting to believe Mexican food is only popular because of cough can big ol USA standing next to it like a big fusion brother. Saying Mexican ceviche is better than Peruvian ceviche is like saying American tacos are better than Mexican tacos, sorry. Peru’s so diverse in its food, and it deserves to be well known way more, Mexico’s taking all the attention because of the United state’s is next to it, now don’t get me wrong Mexican food is good, but it’s not life changing/exciting/as interesting, meanwhile Peru is extremely underrated, and is just a country in South America, and South America is frequently ignored, so if Peru was actually popular, I’d get the feeling it’ll be much more well known and liked than Mexican, also Peru’s just life man.

To all the Indians who are upset that they didn't mention India, this is my opinion. What makes a cuisine better than the other : Variety, taste, flavour, appearance, healthy etc. 1. Indian food has so much variety in every type of dishes. One single dish can be modified into numerous varieties. For example, dosa is a typical south Indian food. You can find around 50 varieties of the same dosa like onion dosa, masala dosa, ghee dosa, vadakari dosa and so on. 2. Every Indian dish tastes delicious. Though there a handful of dishes I don't like too, most of them are delicious with their unique taste. No matter what I say, you have to try the food yourself to actually see it. 3. It's a balanced diet always : Whenever we eat a meal, we don't just stop with one dish. We take lots of side dishes in every single meal. A daily lunch will always consist a vegetable, rice with any curry. In restaurants, you can find around 15-20 dishes served in small quantities in one single meal. An Indian meal contains some amount of everything making it a balanced one. And after eating the meal, we don't end it with a glass of wine. We drink a healthy dessert called ' payasam ' made of milk which helps in digestion and is also delicious. 4. Healthy : Should we even talk about that. It's self explanatory. Indian foods, expect for the fried ones or the ones, are very healthy and nutritious that we even have the phrase in Tamil which says " உணவே மருந்து " which means " Food itself is the medicine for the body ". One single curry makes only one part of a meal. For that curry, we use around 5-10 different vegetables and a number of spices. Even for colouring, we can use turmeric ( which gives both good taste and natural color for the food ). A simple soup called rasam which we consume every day has pepper, coriander and other spices which makes it so healthy. 5. Flavour : Spices are the backbone of flavour in Indian food. You can feel the flavour in every single bite of the food. We have everything from sweet to spicy and the diversity of the food inside India itself can show you that. As I mentioned above how, even a simple dish we make everyday has lots and lots of spices and vegetables which mould well to give an unique flavour. 6. Appearance : I always wondered why people abroad focus on garnishing the food before they serve. Only then I realised that their food needs to be made appetizing for the customers. But, then I realized. Indian food doesn't need garnishing. It naturally has a wonderful appearance and you don't need to do anything else to make it appetizing. Take for example, an idli. If you order a set of idlis, you'll get a bowl of sambhar, chutnies of three different varieties in three different colors. ( tomato chutney = orange, coconut chutney = white, mint chutney = green and there even more chutnies. Amazingly, these three chutnies look like they represent our national flag with all those three colours :-) ). Indian food need no artificial colouring too. Turmeric gives yellow color, chilli gives red and orange, green vegetables and pudina gives green and so on. BUT , INDIAN CUISINE would never be the best cuisine for foreigners. Simple reason = The rest of the world is PREDOMINANTLY NON VEGETARIAN ! Indian food doesn't have as much variety and flavour in non veg dishes as they do in vegetarian. All the above points I've mentioned I wrote it in context with vegetarian dishes. India is a vegetarian country. Yes, 70% of the people are non vegetarian. But they don't eat meat everyday. Most of the non vegetarians eat non veg only a few days in the week( most of them eat meat only once or twice a week ). Though this may vary from region to region, but by the average meat consumed per head , India is the 2nd lowest in meat consumption . Foreigners won't choose Indian cuisine as the best because Indian non vegetarian cuisine is not as competitive with the rest of the world. At the end of the day, FOREIGNERS GET TRUE SATISFACTION ONLY IN EATING MEAT, so in non vegetarian cuisine there are a lot of other cuisines which can easily beat India. That's why India is neglected as the majority of the whole world is non vegetarian. But if they are vegetarians, they'll truly admire Indian cuisine. There's no cuisine that can match Indian in vegetarian foods. For vegetarians, INDIAN CUISINE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
