For any decently sized raid, increasing max cargo size is only a marginal improvement compared to increasing the Amalgam's special ability and getting more pulls. That's why the best raiding crew is a speed crew with B'Etor as a sidecar (and whichever below decks officers that maximize cargo space because a marginal improvement is still an improvement). The speed crew reduces transit time, so you get more pulls, and B'Etor increases the size of the pulls themselves.

I think Incursions would be better if there was a four zone territory that both servers have to fight over, a bit like a 24 hour take over.

Help me understand. Why do you want a max cargo setup, if B'Etor works off ship skill and the ship skill goes off raided base's total available loot? Regardless of max cargo, I should be pulling the same cargo from the target.

Incursions when it came out was a great new mechanic. It did have its issues but the idea of the event was pretty good. However now the event is just stale, like a lot of things in the game. Raiding in the 20's and 30's was good fun, in the 40's and 50's it really just makes more sense to put on a 24 hour shield and do something else for the day. The incentive to raid really isnt there, the rewards are pretty miserable in reality, and unless you have a server that largely bands together to make it an event, it has become irrelevant in a lot of player's minds.

Hey Rev, please pass this message along to the Dopely goobers. Plan incursions for a time with NO OTHER EVENTS GOING ON! This game SUCKS when you're just trying to complete a battle pass event or grind one of the many grinds and keep getting smoked by sweaty try-hards. Some of us have jobs and incursions screws us out of the precious game time we have to spend. Once again, cramming too much into a FREAKING MOBILE GAME.

PvP has got quite frustrating... I had a few results I just couldn't fathom but came to the conclusion my opponent must have invested heavily in primes. Our ships were even but my Freeman worf Lorca were all a level higher, I had good BD going on, I had exos on, locutus, 7, Kirk on duty, PvP for tech, etc etc. I was only winning a third of the time tho.... I can accept a defeat of course but this was weird....

I just hit 41. My Amalgam is tier 8. I only need some rare survey parts and it'll be maxxed out. its still pretty great at tier 8. I'm running B'etor, Stonn, Admiral Freeman. My biggest haul was 4 bn. I'm sitting at around 425 bn points right now with 8 hours to go.

The biggest frustration for me with incursions is still the ridiculous SMS scoring. As a High-30's player, none of the 4* or 5* ships in my PVP Bracket (as an aside: at Ops 39, over half of your PVP bracket can build a 4* or 5* ship) which hit me count for scoring at all. In order to complete the SMS I always have to reach out to the other server and find someone to kill-trade with, which fundamentally isn't PVP. Completing the event organically is impossible ever since before when hull damage was the scoring metric. I've killed plenty of Kelvins and Valdores during incursions, but the event scoring gives me no more credit for them than it does for killing a Realta. That's just stupid...

Absolutely same, lvl40 I had a niche of ships I could hit (or be destroyed by) to score but kept getting wiped out by lvl56 Tallys which scored for them and did nothing for me. The banding is nuts. Also the lag kills it. I'm turtling next time it shows up

Cargo size is irrelevant on an amalgam. When youre raiding a billion at a time, the extra couple of million mean nothing. Much better to fit impulse speed

Most of my server has just thrown out disco to complete the SMS and then logged off for the day. The game is laggy as hell and the zoom bug is constantly forcing players to reboot. I managed to get in a voyager run and stock up on messages with the loot boost exo and did the battlepass event no problem and then joined everyone in logging off. There's a little bit of raiding going on but no PvP anywhere that I could see. Just a dead game day like usual.

Really wish scopely could find a way that 1 base doesn't skew the incursion for the entire server... we had 1 player who didn't shield with over 1Qd rss (amalgam pulls in the trillions) gave up near 700T points on his own. (no i'm not exaggerating, Server 30 lost to server 31... ~45T to ~820T)

B'Elanna Torres does not work in PVP unless it is broken. I would consider Kira Nerys, Seven of Nine, Doctor T'ana or assimilate pvp officers

Dezoc maybe, not the other two. But one of the big things with PvP right now is everything is like 1 round of combat so eveen Dezoc won't end up triggering. Odo and using the Isolytic defense officer below deck, like Ransom on an Interceptor works well

to bad that's not the Meta crew for Freeman on the Enterprise, my t8 ENT was taking out 14 m voyagers with coral crew that is recommend and 18 m ships and good chance on anything under 15m and plus fully max fully maxed ENTs.

Is Lorca better for the Freeman crew, or is it whatever officer gives the best likelihood of causing a “state” for the enemy ship? For example, my T3 Lorca gives a 70% chance of hull breach, but my T4 Gorkon gives an 85% chance of hull breach. All other factors being equal, Gorkon would be better right? Am I off base with that logic?

Lorca is better because he can trigger at the beginning of the round. So you'll get isolytic on round one. Gorkon triggers on hit so this will be somewhere mid round. This means isolytic damage comes in on round 2. With those 3-4 round fights - it's a huge difference.

Still annoyed that certain PvP kills don't count towards the event. As a 39 player, I get credit towards the XSLB, but not the PvP event for Talios, Titan, Voyager, any 4* UC ship or better, things I can kill depending on how they are crewed, but overall don't mean anything. So when I was flying around hunting, it wasn't worth my time to try and PvP those ships as they weren't adding to the event. Scopely should do an audit on that event me thinks.

FWIW - I dont bother with amalgam cargo crewing, really only adds a few million to the overall cargo in the context of billions of rss scoops. The power of amalgam is ship ability, not cargo size of ship. Instead I add some debuffing officers after Betor for some base defense if it is an active raid and sometimes catching some base hits.

He goes thru it in the video, it goes by base size for the ability so it can make a big difference. Test it with no cargo crew and then a full cargo crew with under deck and such

Without cargo crew my amalgam has 15.34m capacity and scooped 256m. Adding cargo crew it goes to 21.45m capacity and scooped 262m, so the entirety of the difference is the 6m to ship capacity, not the amalgam ship ability. Thats on a pretty smallish base and only added 3% to overall scoop. Multi billion scoops wont even notice the 6m boost. @@sanjonny2

Incursions will never be a success without pvp balancing. Should re design ship combat so a group of people can take a level 50+ whale. At the moment it's just rather one dynamic based on who's spent the most money for primes ships etc.

The big problem is one big whale either forgets shield or purposely wants to hurt the rest and we can forget the whole event. Even raiding slb cant be won anymore since its xslb. That being said I still enjoy the raiding. PvP is boring af, just have to use that one crew and they roll the dice who gets to shoot first (contrary to popular believe it is NOT the "attacker")

Just because whales can't buy victory doesn't mean the overall concept of pvp is broken. Good crewing, investment in research goes a long way.

It's broken because fights are now 1/2 a round. Back in the day, best PVP Crews still resulted in 5-15 round fights which allowed for more parity and variance. Also made it easier to "fight back". it's broken because the math is bad :)

Even in 3* PVP, literally every battle I had was won or lost based on if Lorca activated in turn one or not. Every. Single. Battle. Triangle didn't matter. A 25+% power difference with players 3-4 Ops levels higher (and presumably proportional research, based upon ship power) didn't matter. Whichever player had Lorca trigger won. If both players had Lorca trigger, whoever hit the attack button last won (I didn't break my shield for incursions, so I know my opponent always hit the button "last"). This is why Rev says PVP is broken. Whales have nothing to do with it this time

Incursions is a whale event. Only the big players with big amalgams get anything everyone else gets crumbs. Also endless raiding gets boring really fast

This entire event is simply ruined by this: raiding. PvP events can be a lot of fun, as many other MMOs have already proven, and this can also be applied here. The way things are and are going now is downright terrible. Then you can continue to say, raiding is the best thing there is. I really think differently about that, I'm not alone in that. Raiding is not for everyone, the vast majority on my server want nothing to do with it. Why does it keep getting ruined when a few big players on your server are gone and forget to place a shield, leaving the base unprotected in billions of resources. Then this event is immediately lost when the enemy server attacks that base. Then you can say, that's part of it. In normal circumstances I agree with you, no shield is share with others. It's about an event, if this determines the event, what is the point now in doing this event?, there is no point in doing this event anymore... then it's just done, the enemy has won and has no point in fighting anymore. This has nothing to do with PvP, this is just ruining the game. While this does not have to be the case, it is simply Scopely's choice to continue creating this monstrosity of an event. I don't care about who wins or loses. This event should bring cohesion, fun and meet other people that you would otherwise never see. I would like that too, but in a much nicer way than this way. Then you can continue to think that raiding is the most fun in the game, that is your right and that is also allowed. But this is an event for the entire server, so there should be something for everyone where he or she can have fun together with others. Now 90% of the people on my server are angry and have turned off the game, while it is now the weekend in Europe, after a long week of work or school you want to have fun. Why is it so difficult for Scopely to understand this...

This is dumb. As a lvl 22 I can be targeted but I'm not allowed to go hunting. So all I'm allowed to be is a farm for higher players on another server. This is completely stupid. Our it's completely scopely. Interchangeable at this time. Logging off who knows if I'll log back on for this crap.

I think incursions is just another scopley honey trap to get players to spend money. I dont participate in it, just a waste of time with the gigatic lack of balance in the game which is nothing short of pay to win. I'd like to see servers that is completely free to play with only cosmetics to buy. Scopley isnt doing micro transactions, the run mega transactions.
