Alligators are pretty common. But otters, not so much. Even in 1995, somehow a manatee swam it’s way up Buffalo Bayou. More: www.khou.com/article/news/loc...

This was mostly of what has been and could be, not necessarily what is. Alligators, pretty rare near downtown, bull shark, yeah right! You will see some big turtles and snakes though. Gar are there but not terribly common in Buffalo bayou near the city center. However, the second you leave the beltway, mother nature increases. Down south, gators and snakes and nutria rat grace the waterways. Go north and it's mostly frogs and turtles with beautiful banded water snakes along with several other nonvenomous species. However, the further you get from the bay, the bigger the rattlesnakes get. They just want to be left alone though.

Yes. I’ve been told that the river otters were recent arrivals, but from where I’m not entirely sure.

In the west end of Freeport Bahamas there’s a restaurant by the canal and there were sightings of a bull shark and a manatee. My second time there I saw the juvenile shark that I guessed was the baby

A lot of KZbinrs have put up fishing videos.of stuff caught in two main bayous, Buffalo and Brays. Mainly huge alligator gar, catfish, and carp. Reds are being caught in Brays Bayou at Mason Park and somebody caught a red at Sims bayou under the 225 bridge. Also alligator snapping turtles were being caught in Buffalo Bayou downtown. Hadn't seen any lower Greens Bayou(Northshore area) fishing videos yet but did see one with an alligator swimming under the Wallisville Street bridge. Basically every bayou and creek in town has some sort of fish there and that's why all these KZbin videos are popping up.

I don't understand. Why does it seem like you guys are referring to concrete waterways as bayous? I thought Bayous were naturally occurring waterways with trees and shit?
