WEEKEND WOGAN 10th ANNIVERSARY SERIES - Show 25/35
11.06am, live on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday, 10 October 2010… the Ray Charles classic ‘What’d I Say’.
After the magnificent success of the London Palladium, ‘Children In Need' show last week, we returned this week to the BBC Radio Theatre at Broadcasting House at the top of Regent Street. Only now, there was something very different about 'Weekend Wogan'… no TV cameras! For whatever reason (I never really found out why), someone, somewhere in the upper echelons of the BBC decided that for the rest of October and November, the shows would not be filmed. In some ways, this was actually quite lovely because the show became something that it had never really been… a good, old-fashioned RADIO show… that you simply listened to!
Luckily for us, Yamaha (who had furnished me with their new AvantGrand Digital Piano to play the entire year) employed a fantastic official photographer called Hayley Madden to capture stills every Sunday. Honoured to now call her a very dear friend, I'm so grateful that Hayley was there to capture those shows in her fabulous photos. ❤️
