I was hoping to see more about setting it up - wiring it to an existing thermostat, if possible, or setting up the remote controller. Range of the remote or does it need to be wired? How well the drain pump works - have you ever had it leak because the drain line cannot keep up?

Since this review I have had it installed in my basement with no issues. I apologize but I am unable to answer some of the questions you asked. This unit stays in a central spot set on the automatic setting and has been a great unit since being plugged in and would recommend it. I know this reply hasn't been much help but I thank you for watching and commenting.

This make/model is the exact same as Alorair HD55s. Red flag 100% when you have two identical machines branded entirely separately..

That is hardly reason for a Red Flag! Whirlpool appliances are rebranded as KitchenAid, Maytag and Amana - as just one significant example. VW rebrands some of their SUVs as Audi and even Porsche. With computer electronics - every NVIDIA GPU is just a rebranding of the NVIDIA chipsets (Asus, MSI, etc). TVs almost all use the same internal chipsets. Get used to it, that is the way the world has been for many years now.
