Lady is a lawyer who does not read the law. I believe that the law says when a child is born of 2 non-SA citizens, a notification of birth, not a birth certificate, is issued after which the birth will be registered at the embassy of one of the parents if they are from different countries. Being born in SA does not automatically qualify the child as a citizen of South Africa. She in fact is a citizen of the country that registers her birth. She would still have to apply for citizenship based on permanent residency herself when she turns 18 should she wish to.

People here in the comment section are saying a lot of things without facts. First , some are saying she was never born here. No one has the proof of that but people are just saying to validate their arguments. Second, people are saying it is a case of Stolen Identity. Like you said , this could have been a case of Money exchanging hands , which happens a lot of times . Also if Chidima's mother is a criminal, then she is not the only criminal, there are many parties involved , including the Home affairs Officials who facilitated for the issuing of the ID. It is a combined effort, but only Chidima's mother is the criminal 😂😂😂, I am sure she didn't make that ID herself.

The owner of the Nigerian pageant said , Chidimma told him there was no case, it was dropped. According to his knowledge, that is when our Minister responded that that was a lie. But they continued with the show and called us Xenophobic. He did make a lot of money from this whole contreversy.

Well they do get a ‘birth certificate’ , the law does not make that funny differentiation anymore. it’s just hand in written, basically a hand completed form. She does not have permanent residency. So she’ll have to apply for that first (she has valid grounds to rely on -Refugees Act). And one applies to be naturalised then they are naturalized thus having citizenship))
