We were on vacation with my mom in Hershey. She lives in Maine, we were an extended trip to Tennessee so she got us a air b and b to visit her in the middle of our long trip

We keep Christmas and birthdays simple. It drives our consumerist family members crazy 😊 My little guys are getting snow shoes (from market place), cool new sleds (of course we lost most of our snow in that recent storm), two board games we saw that looked fun, some new paint, new paint brushes, and 50 wooden peg dolls to enjoy painting with Mama. My 6yo is getting a toy tractor he wanted. My 8yo wants a trail camera so we are giving him my husband's old one that my son didn't know we had. I got some clearance Christmas PJs today. Last year we had a bit more money and it was a bit more extravagant but a lot less than most do. I love your memory book idea!

Those quilts and blankets are treasures! I never knew my grandmother - she died when my mom was 11. After my grandfather died, my mom brought home a trunk with 2 quilts my grandmother had made during the depression. My mom gave one to each of us - me and my sister. I love mine. It's heavy and I use to crawl under it when times were bad and my son would later do the same thing. It was before the big deal about weighted blankets. When my son was still young, he told me one time to make sure I grabbed "grandmother's quilt" if the house caught on fire.

❤ we always done the frugal way I would find Clarence throughout year stockpile then figure out later did crocheting lot of times blankets hats scraves purses ECT I'm 60 yrs now so for 2024 we are going to give more time to all kids grown and grandkids

The crochet I started in July. Honestly the quilts I started in November. They are not perfect but they are done! My daughter made the matching pillow cases for my boys. She also helped tie off the quilts with me. Good time spent together.

Those blankets are gifts that will be treasured for years to come. My kids and now all my grands have enjoyed trampolines here, but after our first one blew away almost 30 years ago now, lol, we learned to tie them down, and no matter how crazy the winds get around here they stay on the ground. By the way it was so tearful to me, i decided to include this. When you spoke of your son that died, my partner is in the ER this day. He too, has Scoliosis. He started swelling up in his limbs and went this morning. He has a mass on his thyroid and it is stopping the flow into his arms and legs. I spoke with the doctor and he said our hospital doesn't do thyroid things so they wanted to ambulance him to the next biggest city to have him treated and most likely operated to remove the mass. Sorry if im putting it on the Internet but your story touched me and i need to reach out for prayers. Vincent also is severely autistic, and 58. He is refusing to go and get the surgery. When he was born, he wasnt expected to live past a couple of weeks. Then in his 30s he was supposed to have back surgery to save his life. As an adult he vetoed the operation and is now a strapping male with a heart of gold. They cant make him get the operation and despite everything i could say he says NO. His Mother died in 2018, and he lived longer than her. She died of cancer. The doctor said the mass in Vincents thyroid could become cancerous at some later date. So i sit here, diamond painting and thinking that i, at 75, may possibly live longer than my dear soul mate. I need a Christmas miracle. I think you bought great gifts for Christmas! Homemade blankets that you made for them is so precious! I am so sorry for your son’s passing! I hope that you get the pajamas, I know I ordered 3 carry on luggage from an ad on Facebook for my grand daughters , and also one for me, I think I was taken ,but I will wait until after Christmas and if I don’t get them I will call my credit card company and make a report for fraud ! No gifts exchanged for family , home canned items sent to my family back east. We give each adult child money, and also the grandchildren . I feel Christmas is about our Lord , and all that he has done for us. I hope that you have a blessed Christmas Day!
