"Lemonade is a love letter to black women, and I'm so proud to be one." Yes, you said that. I definitely agree with you saying now is when we're seeing Beyonce truly become and artist, and that this is the first time she's released something that's made us think. I'm so excited that she's using her talent to really put out an album that is cohesive and has a message and makes us really FEEL something. I'm so excited about this new Bey.

BEYONCE will be regarded as a legend when she is some. What she has done as a solo artist and as part of a group transcends time and impacts our culture. She has shattered barriers as a performer and has influenced many. Beyonce continues to deviate from the the social and political norms of the music industry. She is truly at the top of her class. I don't see any artist of this era that matches her level of success or ability to captivate the stage. She will be included among Madonna, Mariah Carey, and other greats. She is truly an example of how every artist should push boundaries and work hard to achieve a spot on the mantle of many great artists.

Young lady, this was an excellent, creatively reflective analysis. I thoroughly enjoyed your wit, comedic delivery and low-key admonition (where appropriate). Your style was insightful, and thought provoking. In a time when obscenities and vulgarities are the condiment of choice you managed to serve this dish up flavorfully with delicate seasonings. Yess! #YouDidThat #RefreshinglyTasteful #Intelligent Thank you

I honestly agree with your points here. I feel, as a black woman, this speaks to me on many levels. Sandcastles got pretty emotional for me because I know a girl in that situation. Looking past the unfaithfulness of ones lover and into the deep emotions that make us who we are is what I feel the album is truly about.

I'm so glad that you did this and broke it down the way you did. And I'm glad that we were on the same understanding when it came to the visual and the songs. The album takes you through a range of emotional highs and lows. And I love the fact that it's telling a story and the visuals brought this out. It's celebrating womanhood and blackness and being proud of your roots/culture. This, by far, is her best work to date for me. We see and hear the struggle and pain, but also the happiness and love. Some don't get this because they're looking for Beyonce from the last album. That's not the same person because life moves forward and she's matured & been thru some things. And with her, each album is always different

OMG!!!! You NAILED it for me! Every. Single. Comment. You. Made. Especially how we thought this was her way of surprise-announcing her divorce (to the world and Jay Z at the same dang time), how she got us riled up to break ish, how the Ballad breaks your heart and we weren't ready to stop being mad yet, and how we support reconciliation of marriages but after spending the first 75% of Lemonade hurt, angry, and mad, we at least needed to see her "bash Mister's head to the white meat" first before they got back together. Bravo review!!!!

I wrote a really long article about Beyonce's first audio visual efforts, Beyonce. I gushed. I defended her. I wrote a compendium. I analyzed every video and song. I said she'd found her voice and had depth and considered things. Yet, when Lemonade came out, I didn't get it. As an academic, over the years, there have been great books I started and I didn't like or I didn't get. Then years later, I was forced or on my own revisited that book, sometimes with the aid of secondary texts which were like cliffnotes that made me re-evaluate...that's what you did for me. You instantly got it and articulated it so I could get it. Thanks. You are fucking awesome...for real.

This is a good album. Beyoncé told us to get in "Formation" 4 months ago to receive the message she has prepared for us to feel because we've been "On the Run" too long. And indeed she delivered with imagery and words. A much needed evolution as an artist.

I love that you got the overall focus/tone/message of the album. A lot of people are focused on "beats" or the gossip and miss the point...and there are a lot of deep, emotional, spiritual, feminist, etc (I could go on forever) message of this beautiful album. She put her heart, blood, sweat, and tears into this.

God bless this review. I'm not even religious but I was waiting for someone to actually talk about the themes represented in the HBO special as opposed to "SHE SLAAAYED MEEEEE WORK BITCH SKJFHLSKDFHLSF" because that mess gets old real quick for me. I really appreciated how you said this is when she finally begins to become an artist because that's exactly why I love this album. I was okay with Beyonce's music before. Some of it was fun to listen and dance to and every once in a while she'd drop something that actually had a message (like "Run The World") but I was never really into her because, to be honest, I never liked Jay-Z and Beyonce over here with 932472348 songs that amount to "I love my man though" and while that's cool and all I wanted to hear more about her views on others things. I wanted to get a sense of her as a person not as a wife. Lemonade does that for me. Lemonade is what I've been waiting for!

This was amazing and the first video I've seen of yours. It's the best review of Lemonade I've seen. You actually get it. Most media outlets like to focus on the infidelity aspect of the visual album, but they quickly forget that Beyonce's an artist. For all we know Jay and Bey could be at home with Blue Ivy right now eating chips laughing at everyone "vandalizing" the Rachel's social media pages lol. I also felt that this album was an homage to our ancestors and a love letter to black women and the black family. Did you peep the "OSHUN" reference in "HOLD UP"? Well done CeeCee!
