I have watched the Passion of Christ and shed many tears for what Jesus did for us! The passion you guys share for Christ, his Mother, and everything Catholic is truly inspiring to me. Thank you for bringing this into my life and helping my own Catholic Faith grow!!!

I love doubting Thomas. That dude loved Jesus SO much and was SO loyal. I agree that his nickname doesn't do him justice. He had to be devastated and probably felt like he let Jesus down by not dyeing along side Him. He had a warriors spirit!!! He put so much into his physical relationship with Christ that I can see how he couldn't bare to lose Jesus again. It wasn't until the resurrection that he realized his relationship with Jesus could live beyond the grave. And it was the gentleness of Jesus in dealing with Thomas' doubts that saved him...and me too. You guys are a breath of fresh air, thank you for what you are doing!

You made the comment that people listen to podcast because they are lonely......you nailed it! I have been married for 32 years...and I have been going through a super difficult time! My husband suffered a back injury..and was taking pain medication..he has been consumed by this drug (opioids)...I've lost him and have tried everything possible! I do feel lonely...and yes..I listen to podcast after podcast...they have become my friends! One good thing is that I've come closer to Jesus...and I have learned so much about my Catholic religion! Jesus has given me the strength to hold on...and I know He will be there if I have to let go! Either way...I am grateful for podcast like yours! Thank you for helping to fill that void! ❤

I’m watching this episode 3 years later. April 2024. Podcasts get me through the nights. Days actually too. It’s because of grief from losing my mom and my sister just a year later, that I slipped into a depression. Som many other heartbreaking things have also happened in this past year, and I can’t turn my brain off. I think until I make myself physically and mentally sick and exhausted. I need to constantly have earbuds in my ears during my days and nights. I’ve learned a lot from various podcasts the past 4 years, on many topics, and my grief, has brought me back to prayer. I always prayed in my own way, but now, I watch these shows and learn, I remember things that I was taught in Catholic school, but couldn’t remember over the years, and now I pray the rosary every morning, and that brings me comfort. Blessings to you all. 💕🙏✝️💙🙏✝️✝️

Love the Catholic Talk Show. I am a revert to the Catholic Church. Long story. Was not brought up Catholic. Grew up in England Church of England. Very liberal upbringing. Then just before my 21st Birthday. Got married to a young man in the U.S. Air Force. Married into a very strict Methodist family. No choice had to go to their church. It was a very difficult year while my husband served in Vietnam. We lived with them about another year and half while we saved up to buy a house. Our marriage did not get of to a good start. I converted to the Catholic Church in 1978. We have a wonderful son and daughter. They go to their Dad’s Methodist church. I feel away from the Catholic Church for about 19yrs. Started to watch EWTN in 2013. Research the early Church. The Early Church Fathers. Last step going to my youngest Godchild’s wedding. Aug 2014. Next day went to Mass and I was back in the Church. I left the Church to become a crazy J.W. No one done much worse than that. I know call it an evil cult. Elder’s told me not to go to my dear daughter’s Wedding. Will never forgive myself for not going to her wedding. We live in Northeastern Pa. she got married in the West Coast. Would have loved to have gone. When you in that cult. My daughter followed me in. That why I could not go to her wedding. They have this awful shunning.

By FAR your best show, and there are many good ones. I just listened to Fleming Rutledge talk about the Historical Jesus and the Risen Christ! This is a wonderful coverage of the known events of appearances of the Risen Lord. FORTY days! I wish we knew more about that time. We will one day. Oh, and something that has mystified me, and probably others, when Mary Mag. tried to cling to him, and the incident with the women. I got clarity to what was “going on”, and how awesome that we do get a tiny peek at the progress from Jesus “in time”, and Jesus the Christ as a Spiritual Body, as St. Paul says in 1 Cor 15. God bless y’all!

20:20 "And how merciful is our God that we have a savior in Jesus Christ. He reveals himself as the Son of God who pursues us constantly. He will meet us in the place where we are most afraid. He IS going to meet us where we feel most broken. You go to Mass: Where is your brokeness? Bring it to Him! That's the whole idea of what we are bringing to the altar. We bring 10% of our wealth as tithing to provide for the poor and things like that. But you are not wealthy in comparison to God. Beyond that, you are bringing everything that you lack! All of your brokeness, you're bringing it to the altar and Jesus' resurrected body is right there for us to receive, each and every single day. And what does this mean to one who feels broken? I do have a place where I am put back together again? And I'm being re-membered? I am crafted into this body at the altar, in my brokeness, in my broken parts?" Father Richard, it means everything! And I thank God that He made me stumble over this notion of yours one day before I needed it most. It saved my day.

I'm just not getting it; I'm 63 & have been a dedicated Catholic my whole life; then all of a sudden I'm deathly ill for a month: and it's not getting better. I dedicated my life to PADRE PIO when I was 28: Ever since then everything has gone DOWNHILL. What am I supposed to think of the CATHOLIC faith right now. That all the praying/ masses I attended/ number of times I've gone to confession/ received communion/ said chaplets/ Prayed the last part of the OUR FATHER so many times; Lead us not into temptation & but "DELIVER US FROM EVIL" so many times - and now I'm sicker than a dog; Did GOD hear those words I prayed OR were they just ignored. Before being SICK, I was 1 of the healthiest 63 year olds around; Was playing in a regular men's softball league/ not the senior league/ lifted light weights & walked 4 miles 4 to 5 times a week. And GOD knocks me flat on my back? What kind of REWARD is that to a dedicated Catholic/ albeit / not a perfect person; that has asked for help through prayer my whole life,??? God punishes me for BEING GOOD? Meanwhile I know "friends" that openly MOCK/ GOD/my faith and these people are fine/ GOOD JOBS / financial successful while I can't even find a job that lifts me out of POVERTY. This is my REWARD after dedicating my life to the Catholic Church/ and Padre Pio - after asking Padre Pio & the church to improve my situation at age 28. Ever since that time my life/ health / financial circumstances have NOT IMPROVED but have slowly gotten worse. Seems like God doesn't pursue us; seems he kicks people when they're down/ opposite of what the CHURCH teaches. Are there those that JESUS looks at and says; NO he's unredeemable; I like what you preach "The Good News" / yet I'm starting to believe that GOD gets a kick out of persecuting/ messing with / torturing/ some one that is really dedicated to him. Jesus / GOD/ seems to want to partner with the DEVIL to torture HIS GOOD people to see how they react/ JOB!? I ask you is this TRULY a just GOD that partners with the DEVIL to harass his good servants? to see how they'll react; That's not a GOOD father/ that's an ABUSIVE Bastard/ OGRE. What's happening to me; How am I supposed to react to this; And seems the more I pray / just recently watched your podcast on GUADALUPE/ the more the pains in my body act up? What the heck is going on here. I want to be more dedicated to my faith AND Jesus is constantly making my journey to better my faith a mentally, physically/ spiritually TORTUROUS ; Where's the all loving, comforting, GOD. Does GOD want me to turn from him. Does JESUS want to send me to HELL. As the rock star John Lennon sang once, " WHY IN THE WORLD are we here? ....... SURELY not to LIVE IN PAIN & fear/ what I'm going through after being so dedicated to the Catholic faith since age 28; My life was better before I committed my life to the CATHOLIC FAITH. I'm beginning to see that GOD punishes GOOD people & REWARDS SINNERS/ exact opposite of what you're taught. GOD is telling me I'M unredeemable/ why did he come/ I beginning to believe that if this is true THEN his life / mission was FALSE/ in VAIN. There has to be something different than being tortured / harrassed / persecuted / in the name of FAITH / I can't do this anymore if what I described IS the true CATHOLIC FAITH. Being tortured? There has to be something different. I want PEACE in my life; NOT TORTURE/ unrest/ pain & confusion / which I am experiencing now. There has to be something different.

Hey guys I know this is an older video but I just found it today. I have a quick question. What's the Church's official teaching on this... Do you think Jesus had his scars when he was resurrected? The reason being is that when he asked St Thomas touch his side. A friend of mine and I were talking about this. The reason I ask is that we often say that we're all going to be 'healed' in heaven. (I was confirmed in 2014 at 26 years old - after almost dying in 2012. I had been away from the church from when I had 1st communion until then). I absolutely love the Easter account. (I know we're in advent but I also found this video). I currently work with women who deal with sever anxiety and trauma. I had anxiety for 7.5 years myself. I am looking forward to hopefully hear back from someone to know the Church's official teaching on this. I'm so grateful for all of the great resources we have now. Especially with the fact that I went from 1st communion to an adult without any Church teaching. God bless you guys!

Concerning the meetings between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, and also between Jesus and the other women, could it be as simple as that Mary arrived earlier? Because the Gospel of Mark says that all those women were going TOGETHER, and they wondered how they would move the stone.

Remember that the Roman guards would not have moved back the burial stone without express order from Pilate and how well either the guards or the Hoy women would have been able to communicate in each other's language is not known.

In what Bible is James missing? Maybe at the time of Luther, if that's what you mean. James is a favorite book of mine. Where did I first read it? When I was NOT Catholic. You all are great. But my love of scripture pre dates becoming Catholic. My Catholic friends have a very poor background in the Bible.

I think that Jesus appeared to Peter before the the two disciples on the way to Emmaus... because when they reported back their encounter, they were told yes we are aware .. he appeared to Peter and has already briefed us..

i had wanted to add a comment to your discussion on Judas - Why he betrayed Jesus. You correctly outlined the sect Judas came from & had belonged to but i didn`t hear any suggestion that maybe he had got impatient waiting for Jesus to come out publicly as some Jews had mistakenly expected, Judas`s group particularly, to overthrow their Roman rulers. In his thinking, it is possible is it not that if Jesus was arrested by the Jews Leaders it would force His hand to show himself as King of the world. As you correctly pointed out 30 pieces of silver was not worth all that much for the prize he was offering the Pharisees so he was probably expecting to have some important role in the earthly kingdom he was expecting Jesus to establish and this small payment was just to satisfy temporarily his greedy love of money? And hence his dramatic remorse when he discovered the fatal error he had made leading to Jesus` crucifixion. Such a pity he did not realise he could have received Jesus` forgiveness too, if only he could have been humble in his contrition & asked Him, as Peter did, instead of listening again to Satan & hanging himself. Where would I find the show notes? I was looking for the link of our lady with the resurrection of Jesus, done by the Italians. I realize this is an older video and you may not see my question. Thank you anyway...I love watching your videos! 💕

If you guys are suggesting that Mary (Our Lady) was the first to encounter the risen Lord, her son. Then I'd like to state that it wasn't actually Mary that Jesus saw first, but rather it was actually Jesus' bookee being the first. Jesus needed to clean up on the odds which was 777,777:1 that He would be raised from the dead within 3 days of His death. Secondly, was then Mary, His mother. and thirdly it was Mary Magdala (the one particular account referenced in scripture). Happy Easter!

While I enjoy the content of The Catholic Talk Show, I am annoyed that the host seated in the middle fails to make eye contact with the host seated to his right. The Priest, on the other hand, does an excellent job of acknowledging both of the Ryans as he speaks.

You guys need to look into the theory of the "secret first ascension" because Mary couldn't touch Him but then the Apostles could later. His reasoning was that He "hasn't yet ascended to the Father" to Mary. So one would surmise that He must have secretly ascended before seeing the Apostles. This also implies that there will be a "secret first decsension" before He comes again at Armageddon. I find this easier to believe than your "cleansing process over time theory".

So if Mary's the first believer would it be ok to say that St. Mary Magdalene's the first to be converted? The reason I ask this is because I don't see it as Mary our Mother needing o be "converted'' in that sense. Just a thought! (I took her as my Confirmation Saint with that idea in mind). ...Wait... so St. Mary Magdalene would of been like the first "preacher"? (I guess it would be more of the first Evangelist but still Neat!) I never actually thought of it like that because of the same thing you noted on how we see it as a 'man' led church.

@Ryan Dellacross, important to remember that animals don't have free will so they can't sin. All of creation goes back to God because they don't have the option not too except humans. God loves us so much that He gave us free will and original sin tells us we naturally don't choose to go back God. We need grace to choose otherwise. So yes, pets and every other animal and not only animals, but every form of creation that passed on is in Heaven and they're perfected because they're with God. All of this is a theory of course and I got from St. Thomas Aquinas, I think

Just out of curiosity. Your on Facebook and twiiter and other social media. I am too but what does it mean to do business with evil people such as zuckerman and other bias owners. Would Jesus want us to find other ways to get the message through or is it really no big deal?

Did the Apostles use the Roman roads and Latin and Greek to speak to the gentiles? Did Patrick use the Shamrock? Did Our Lady appear as Mestiza to at Guadalupe? The nature of remote cooperation is complicated but shouldn’t mean we retreat from the world and public square. If we abstained from everything remotely related to evil, I doubt you could drink public tap water let alone try to convert the culture. That’s how we try to approach things.

It could be that Jesus just came back from Hell and have not gone to the Father for cleansing. That's why He told Mary Magdalene not to cling to Him at that moment.

Jesus did not go to "Hell" he went to the afterworld. The word "Hell" is a bad translation, a better one is "Sheol" since most now think of Hell as a place of torment.
