I learned this lesson from watching the podcast Grafted. The blue die is created from a snail that was found on the seashore of Galilee. It disappeared sometime after 70ad & reappeared around the 1800’s I believe. Anyway, it disappeared when the Israelites left the area & reappeared before they returned!! God is AMAZING!!

Dear Melanie, Jesus is waiting to forgive you. Just pray and ask Him to forgive you your sins. Nothing we have done can surprise or shock Him, or make Him love you less. That's why He died and rose again. Imagine you are in court for a crime, and waiting to hear your punishment. Then someone comes in, and tells the judge that your fine has been paid IN FULL. The judge can legally let you go free, because your fine's been paid by someone. 23 years ago I had a premature baby who was very ill. Jesus came to me in a dream and handed me my baby son. He still had holes in his hands from the cross and I dropped to my knees. Then later I used to joke that in case anyone wants to know, Jesus looks like Kenny Loggins! I was speechless when the girl painted Jesus so similar to my dream...and now your image. In the end it doesn't really matter I know. But it's fun to realize how similar these encounters look ❤.

The Bible gives us a few clues that should tell us that we can’t know what Jesus looked like in his earthly body. People base his look on the shroud of Tourin. But the Bible says he was disfigured more than any man. His beard was plucked out. A crown of thorns was impaled into his forehead. He was beaten about the head and face. Therefore his face would have been terribly swollen and distorted from his pre-torture state. The image that has been pulled from the shroud was a post-torture image - disfigured and swollen.

My dad passed away 3 years ago. He had a vision and then met with Jesus 2 weeks before he died. Then he shared really cool stuff with us that is mostly personal. But one thing that he did tell us is that that picture from the 8 year old girl is exactly what he looked like. I then met another person who has had a vision of Christ, but never saw that picture. He walked by it in my mother's house, where it now hangs. He exclaimed in shock, "Where did you get this? Where am I?" That is what the Savior looked like when he visited with me. Of course it would come from the mouth of babes... An 8 year old girl reveals it.

About the Shroud, it’s important to remember that Jesus was severely beaten before the crucifixion, including having been struck on the face. His face would have been swollen. So the face on the shroud only partially be reflective of his natural features. To me, the thin face in the painting as it is overlaid on the shroud is even more evidence of how the painting matched the image on the shroud.

Actually there are recent studies of the shroud that show that this person was wearing the phylacteries on the head and on the hand. The blood flow on the arm shown that the blood flowed around leather straps. So this man was crucified wearing his phylacteries . That would have been a real statement to passerbys that here is a naked Jewish man.

The Talit and the tzitzit are 2 different items. The tzitzit are worn on the corners of your garments. If you read Gods instructions for the tzitzit in Num 15:37 - His ONLY instruction regarding what the tassels look like is to make sure there is a blue thread. There is NO mention of how many threads or what other colors or how many knots or anything else. Anything more than that is from the Talmud and is not from God. The woman who grabs Jesus’ hem, grabs his tzitzit. It may or may not have been attached to a talit or his clothing. Please be careful about blurring scripture with the Talmud, which Jesus hated. It was all the additional rules (7 strings, 3 knots, etc..) that made it difficult to follow Gods commandments and thats why Jesus was always angry with the Pharisees.

In the Shroud of Turin Jesus has shoulder length slightly curly hair. Wavy. The sides of his face are hidden by his hair, so His face was fuller of course. His beard and hair were pulled out when He was tortured, so much of His hair is missing. Jesus received many blows to His face. His face was very swollen in areas like His nose. If it was a Nazarethian style to have long hair, then Jesus would have had long hair as fitting of His culture. Jesus was Jewish, he looked like Jewish people did then. Olive color skin that would darken/ tan from the sun. His DNA was completely made from Mary's DNA, as Jesus had no earthly father. Jesus looked like the female version of His mother. Near death experiences are just that, near death, not death. People who follow Buddha, see Buddha when they have a near death experience. After Jesus rose from the dead He has His glorified body. We will probably never see Him in His original early human flesh, unless He chooses to do so. I suppose if Jesus appears to a person or appears to them in a vision, He chooses how He will look for that individual person to be able to relate to Him, even a child brought up with no faith in Christ. And, kids see more than you know 😊.

Near-death experiences? I don't think those are to be trusted at all. All those visions of heaven that are made to sell books are probably not genuine either. And there are no "forgotten" teachings of Jesus. They are summed up in "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength" and "Love your neighbor as yourself." Nothing is a "forgotten teaching." That suggests two things: 1. The Word of God isn't inerrant. (False) 2. You have insider knowledge about God, gleaned, of all places, from a very liberal retelling of the Gospel, full of what I call "probably nots." (False) As in, Matthew probably was not a dog owner since Hebrews thought dogs were unclean and there's nothing to suggest that Peter was a brawling ruffian. He was impulsive, to be sure, but all we know is that he was a God-fearing fisherman. The Bible also says that Jesus had nothing about his appearance that would draw us to him, so he probably did not appear "handsome" by today's standards. And as for the art depicting Him having blue eyes? If God brought Jesus into the world as a baby through the ancient genetic line of Hebrews, probably not. This suggestion of "forgotten teachings of Jesus" is dangerous. What is "forgotten" that is not included already in Scripture? Nothing. This is troubling. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if "forgotten" means an exaggerated way of expressing oft overlooked teachings. I hope that is the case. Otherwise, repent of flirting with gnostic ideas.

Forgotten teachings is a reference to Jewish practices, prayers, etc, that would have been common at the time of Jesus and have been forgotten over time. They are things that change how we read the Bible once we know them, because they help us notice things we haven’t noticed before. The gospels are filled with Jewish references. The Chosen depicts many of them. This book highlights them.
