My theory: each primarch is linked to some sort of non-chaos based warp entities, kind of like the two angelic gods in the warp that are tied to the Blood Angels. This is why Corvus is able to turn into a Raven Demon, and why most chapters have their own little 'flair' (hell, the Watchers of the Dark Angels could be tied to this as well). I love the idea that there's things in the warp beyond Chaos, as there are great presences in the warp aside from choas, so its not like there isn't a precedent.

Corvus shares the Glamour of the Emperor, the ability to manipulate the perception of yourself to others. Which is why Corvus is almost immune to it's effects when they first meet... Surprising the Master of Mankind. As Corvus hides his ability literally making himself unable to be seen by biological beings. The Emperor seemingly indicates it's an "Occupational hazard" like he can't turn it off, always the shining symbol of humanity. In the short story "Soul-Forge" Corvus actually uses his ability to mimic an Emperor-like presence to bring a room of Tech-priests to heel and make them stand down, listen to him. This being said, When the Emperor appears like a Sun... Blazing like the rising of day. Daemon's burn and turn to ash before him, only the strongest fleeing or attempting to attack blinded. Corvus is doing the same in the warp, he's not turning into a Daemon... That's just what the chaotic forces see, something that's terrifying warped from their own minds... If they see him at all.

Question I always wanted to know who and how do they decide what happens next in the 40k universe? Like do the authors of the novels get together and decide "hey this is what should happen next" or does GW just say "this is what's gonna happen"

GW HQ is pretty much like the Dark Angels and the rock, they have their inner circle that holds all the secrets and future plans. Authors have meetings with the inner circle and give them their ideas and they in turn give them the nod or give guide lines on how far they can go regarding the lore or impact on the setting.

Wouldnt it be possible that in the War in Heavean some Old ones survived but feared the necrons and that they may extermenate the remaining one and hid and now appear as the watchers in the dark would also explain why chaos is afraid of them as they may be able to see how op they are in terms of warp manipulation and as such are afraid to get torn to shreds by the old ones

Ferrus Manus- Soul fights the negative Machine God. Corvus Corax- Slaying Chaos Marines and Darmon Princes while waiting for Lorgar. Sanguinius- Attempting to reunite his soul shards. Jaghatai Khan- Fighting one Primarch war against Dark Eldar. Lion El Johnson- Dreaming of battle plans while in coma. Rogal Dorn- Trying to find a way out of Perturabo's prison. Lemun return could go like this. He finds the tree of life, or at least a powerful artifact that can restore under specific conditions. He goes to restore daddy e but is under either a time issue or need specific parts and those parts get destroyed. Instead he uses it to restore Ferrus Manus, the return of Ferrus, an earlier return of Rogal, and Gulliman still having organisation skills like crazy, allows them to build new technology and advance beyond the state the in, this is the end times, not because chaos is about to win but because the imperium is going to advance to the point they don’t need to be the imperium. Containing chaos to a minor threat and then focussing on the Tryanids or another major threat from somewhere else. Fulfilling the end times because it’s the end of the imperium, allowing 40k to continue but now breaking up all the factions. The dark imperium could develop into its own faction.

Having literally just reread Ian Watson's Space Marine, it appears that Dorn's skeletal remains are housed in the Imperial Fists' fortress monastery - "... and housing the Fists' holiest relic: the mighty skeleton, embedded in clear amber contoured to body-form, of the Primarch himself." chapter 6 of the 1993 Boxtree edition.
