Arnav Goswami Its true I dont know everything, just as you dont know everything about the US. Unlike India, we dont all think the same way about everything. This type of video gets on my nerves for that reason. When things like this are posted it is assumed all Americans dont have a clue, but many do. Just like our history, not as long as yours but we still have one. We didnt invade your country, the British did. Just as they controlled us for many years but not as long as India was controlled. We live by very strict laws but at the same time the freedom to say and do as we please and screw it if someone doesnt like it. In a nut shell we dont care what people think, and there is always someone who will say it to your face. If there are Americans who dont know about another country its because they dont give a damn. I was the same at one time, but made a few friends and we get along fine, but the culture clash is there. I have read some things and yes watched some videos, namely videos made by Indians themselves. What I have read and what I have seen isnt as nice as many Indians try to make it. Thats my whole point. You have some very nice traditions but there is no hiding the trash, and the number of poor people, the fact that you have many bad habits just as anyone else, including the US. However the US doesnt not have slums like India, and the number of poor in India probably equals the US population. Many here are fighting against the corruption in our government, and support our president because he is fighting a battle that no other in our history has had to fight. That includes racism and the multi-billionaires trying to take over our country. Im not the least bit delusional about my country..I know there are problems but I dont deny they exist. If I deny them how will we fix it. I have lost many friends on facebook due to being on opposite ends of the political spectrum. You love your country, then stop denying the problems and work to get rid of them. I apologize if I was rude but thats how we roll in the USA, we say whats on our minds.Sometimes we arent always that nice about it.

Ok instead of me just commenting on a specific statement I would like to speak generally about this situation. Americans including me was not taught in school much about other countries history unless it was associated with America for many reasons. Wouldn't it be a disgrace if you knew more about a country you are not from than you knew about your own?? American history goes a longggggg way and its so much to learn and cover so we focus more on our own history unless like i said its associated with America. Next.I would like to point out that No America does not just teach American history. Once you enter higher levels of education then you do visit and learn about other parts of the world. So yes maybe many of these people didn't know the answers to the questions but its not because they are stupid, many factors contribute to this such as what level f education, if they are even interested in learning other peoples history, or maybe they were simple ready to continue their day and not answers questions. OK now that that is out of the way American people are just like any other people, some are mean some are nice but that has nothing to do with us being American, it's simply because that's who that individual is. Next, I happen to like Indian culture so I could answer those questions but that is because that is something that interests me and I myself took time out to learn about India. We talk about Martin Luther King Jr all the time and no one ever says anything about India or Mahatma Ghandi. I'm not saying that what you are saying in not true but what I am saying is that Americans are not being taught that. Only thing we know about Indians are the Native American Indians. Its sad to say but its true. So Do Not Criticize someone for not knowing when it was never taught. Be understanding. well, i'm a great baseball player and my grades were ok, i didn't have just one indian friend, if i count i would say around 6, they were not great at sports, less stamina, didn't want to run at all, also i'm not judging but none of them had a gf cause girls were not attracted to them, They became my bitch wen they needed me and assured me that they are my best friends but ditched me when i needed them, my native friends helped me whenever i needed help. There are a lots of stuff but i wouldn't say that cause that would be very offensive. The Barons of England had the right idea. Plus mouthing off about own greatness. Its not gonna do us any good. What we should do is be humble and contribute towards making India a better country.

India has some pluses but so do other countries, including the US. The US has our own history of pain and struggle, but we admit our down falls and try to fix them. On the other hand I witness over and over how Indians deflect their problems by speaking negative about the US. Most Americans will say we arent perfect, but we work to get things fixed. We have too many people who speak their minds here, to allow for anything to go unnoticed. There was a time when people here were dirt poor, but they didnt deny it. They fixed it. I would like to know how many Indians can tell an American about our history. Lets not forget we are a mixture of many cultures. I know that India was controlled by the British, and many Indians have the same snobbish attitudes as the British. Try acting that way in the US and youll get a history lesson on being humble. Very smart people here, even people with no education are smarter than you think. It takes more than book knowledge to be smart.

Many knew that Obama is the President of India, but unfortunately many Indians did not know who is the President of India but the same people knew who is the President of USA ( converse of what is this interview is all about) Popular Bollywood actress never knew who is the President of India ( shame and is now very popular. Recently Bobby Jindal though an Indian , but just because he is in race for the President he feel ashamed or never say or hesitate to say that he is an Indian. Indians go to USA , become NRI or Citizen of USA and feel proud to call themselves Americans . When they visit India , among their relatives they boost of their wealth, social status, and feel high. They show arrogance and times criticize India . When something go wrong abroad in foreign land, then they remember India and expect Indian Government to help them escape from that foreign land and come back to India. Those Indians at home in India , love their country like me. Try to improve india by living in India . We like to go abroad as a tourist. Those Indians who have left their shore and has never visited India for more than 10 year must not be given Indian citizen back home as they are now citizen abroad. They must only come as tourist and never be given dual citizen and vote in India. ONLY INDIANS LIVING IN INDIA MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE IN INDIA. INDIANS LIVING ABROAD, WHO HAVE NEVER VISITED INDIA BACK HOME IN LAST 10 YEAR , MUST NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE. BUT AS TOURIST THEY ARE MOST WELCOME AS WE INDIANS WILL THEN EARN DOLLARS FROM THEM.
