I'm surprised you put New Radicals in this. I was just listening to that album the other day and thinking about how big that band could have been if they stuck around. I'm black and when I was a teen and my older cousin who used to listen to rock had stayed at our house for a little while back then, when she moved out she left a lot of her DVDs and CDs and I remember going through them and finding that New Radicals CD, I used to like "You Get What You Give" but didn't know anything else about the band. I uploaded the CD to my iTunes just for that one song and decided to give the whole thing a listen. I remember someone on the internet saying New Radicals was the whitest music they ever heard I vibed with the themes of most of the songs. They were cast off as a one hit wonder with an annoying song, but that song had meaning to it and still holds up today. Beyond that I feel like they were getter than that, I feel like Greg Alexander is a great song writer and they had potential to be a great band, at least one of those bands that would have been looked back on years later and with a cult following, if they did a few more albums I could easily see sites like Pitchfork and Stereogum glazing them now. They could have been something in that time between nu-metal and pop-punk taking over in the late 90s and then getting indie bands like the Strokes and the White Stripes in the early 2010s. The probably could have been the next thing in rock. Only if Gregg Alexander didn't hate touring which is why he ended the band.
