As much as it pains me to say it Idk if 2 killers in DBD would ever work. All the killers have to do is stick together and then chases would be impossible. The huntress paired with any M1 killer would be ridiculous. Just have huntress hold a hatchet, wait for the other killer to get the M1 and then throw the hatchet immediately after. Boom you just died in 3 seconds. If they wanted to make a 2 killer mode then they would probably have to rework the entire game itself. Survivors would need a lot of buffs and more ways to defend themselves. They’d probably have to give you like 5 second endurance after being hit. Maybe double the healing speed and give a 3% haste? Maybe let the survivors have a 5th perk since there’ll be 8 different perks being used against them. That’s 4 extra perks on the killer side and 4 extra perks for the survivors team total so it evens out kinda.

I think comparing this game to dbd is like comparing the Sims (at least the older ones) and animal crossing. Both games are within a similar genre but play and feel different. Trying to label this the DBD killer will only make suffer as it will lead to false ideas about what this game should be like. While it no doubts has it's flaws, DBD fulfills a different role entirely in the gaming landscape and so does TCM. TCM requires team work for both killers and survivors to complete there goal, while teamwork in dbd fluctuates on constabt basis. Killers and dbd on forced to take everything on themselves while killing can be split for TCM. Forcing TCM into a "killer of dbd" role is not something we should want as it'll only cause it to become like VHS or even Last year. It'll become a shell of its former self as the fanbase devours itself trying to be better than the other

I'm ejoying TCM more as a victim because none of annoying things like tunneling or camping are an issue. Ppl can't complain about things like infinities because there are 3 killers. And camping is ineffective because you can tank a few hits before you go down and there are 4 exits. And most importantly, you can fight back. In the beginning I stuck to stealth characters but now I just use Sonny and Leland and aren't afraid to face the killer/s directly. Also, the map is mazey enough where you don't have to loop. Looping is an option, but it's not the only option like DBD. Running around a car for 2 minutes and trying to get back my dead hard or sprint burst isn't that fun.
@DarkHorseDanny Жыл бұрын
I like it but my main issues are that it seems self-independent rather than working as a team to escape, your teammates don't really communicate even though you can see they've got microphones, and I keep getting a lot of teammates that just randomly disconnect
@lookatthetree978 Жыл бұрын
For victims, teamwork is rewarded but not necessary which is the best kind of implementation of teamwork. As family there is a much larger difference on how you perform on comms as opposed to no comms but it’s still not necessary once you get the hang of family. In dbd I found myself relying on teamates way too much and suprise suprise they didn’t help at all. I like how tcm balances team play with loner play, it feels way more reliable then dbd anyway.

I think TCM was made really well, but I do worry that it might die off like other asymmetric games before it. As a DBD player with around 1200 hours, I feel like the DBD gameplay loop is satisfying for me. A match against Hag feels totally different than playing Deathslinger. And even if there are meta perks, I still feel like there’s good variety in perks that are used. And maps make things feel fresh along with survivor teammates making different choices. I just think these different factors make each game feel unique. I can be like “oh yeah, there was this one time I got a flashlight save through pog log by the exit gate on the swamp”. At least for me, it just feels like each match has its own flavor, and I always look forward to what might happen. Also, maybe I want to play stealthy, but maybe other times I want to play super aggressive and sabaotge hooks and stuff. I just feel like there’s a lot of builds that I can play depending on my mood. Also, upgrading my characters’ bloodwebs is therapeutic for some reason. Maybe it’s because it’s random, and simulates a gaacha game, but it’s just satisfying to upgrade. This is not to say TCM won’t have the same flavor, and the game is still young, so people are figuring out the game. I also imagine that as people get better, new play styles will emerge. I also think there is a lot of build variety among victims and the family, but I also feel like the perks I e played with don’t feel super impactful. Maybe I’m just using the wrong perks. And some of the character specific perks don’t feel super impactful aside from Connie’s. And getting overwhlemed by the whole family at once is frustrating. That’s probably a skill issue on my part, but I just don’t feel like the perks have the same impact that perks in DBD can have. Like I said, most of that is probably just a skill issue on my part lol. I have been enjoying TCM, but even after playing it on launch day, it feels like it’s lacking something that DBD has, which would keep me around for as long as DBD has. I just can’t put my finger on what that is. I do hope TCM thrives, but at least for me at this point, I can’t see myself playing and grinding TCM in the same way that I do with DBD. I only really see myself picking it up to play casually, whereas I would play DBD both competitively or causally, depending on my mood. Like I said, I can’t put my finger in the difference, but that’s just been my experience.

The one major flaw in all of this is comparing the games in the first place. TCM is not trying to be DBD and it's not going to kill it. The games might both be asym horror but fundamentally they are different in every aspect. Comparison is the death of joy. Both games can exist and thrive at the same time. Trying to compare the two is giving the illusion that one must choose one of these, instead of playing them both without the need for competition.
@hockaj4845 Жыл бұрын
personally it looks pretty meh and repetitive. the reason i prefer dbd over this is that while dbd can also be repetitive, it still has a bunch more killers to it, you can have tons of different perk combos to spice up the game etc etc. Since it is Texas Chainsaw Massacre I dont see it getting licensed killers the same way dbd is. so its definitely gonna get an audience similar to Friday the 13th while people who enjoy dbd will probably still enjoy dbd more over this after some time.
@oranbluethorn3956 Жыл бұрын
Texas won't kill dbd like how Friday wasn't realllly gonna hurt it. Friday could open its servers again right now and release a Jason X free DLC and it'd still not dent, because these two games are...just kinda different. DbD has a lot more competitiveness to it while Texas as a whole feels way more casual. It's gonna be a great change of pace, and probably have a temporary hit on DbDs playcount, but I doubt it's gonna be lethal

I like the game quite a bit but the current state of lobbies makes it more like an idle game where you just afk and check back every 5-8 minutes to rejoin a new lobby because your old lobby timed out and if you’re lucky you get to play a match. The issue is lobbies don’t backfill players that leave > 90% of the time and almost every lobby has at least one person leave. I don’t think the game will last that long but it’s definitely worth the money when you do get the chance to play it.

I really like the game, loved friday. TCM you actually have a chance to escape as the last survivor or alone before anyone dies if you know what youre doing. I like that having a half decent team isnt necessary to escape. Hit reg is good. Ive had a blast playing this, i just want more victims so i can play the character i want lol

Voice chat could be introduced to DBD as follows make it so comms are only proximity base, forcing ppl to link up to make a plan 7 meter proximity comms chatter, but the killer can hear chatter greater than survivors, so plans could be heard and pinpoint where survivors are.

the movie was loosely based around the events of one man not multiple people. i think the only things that stayed the same was the skin suit, the furnishings made from corpses and the poor condition of the home. he didn’t use a chainsaw for any murders and his family didn’t help him. the real man was Edward Theodore Gein mostly referred to as Ed Gein if anyone would like to know the real story.

I would argue that the biggest reason why a lot of other Asym games crash is because they don't stay consistent with content releases. Most of the ones that I notice dying off get no updates for months on end. Multiplayer PvP games require frequent updates to keep people interested. Yet the companies behind them often fail to keep that going for very long.

I hope it either scares BHVR to the point they start to actually fucking work on their game or takes the half of their player base out so they go to the option 1 regardless.

I remember one match of me trying to sneak my way into one of the doors to the central building in Gas Station to get inside and hide. Once I got in I searched for a unlock tool right there by the door that lead me in, and As I started to creep past it to go further in the building I saw Johnny slow walking up the front porch in my riff. That was shit was terrifying just though I'd share lmao.

TCM isn't actually based off of IRL serial killers it is based off of the movies that are originally based off of Ed gene as the inspiration for the iconic "letherface" character and the rest was just added into a script from the creativity of a film crew and or director that was put into a film
@AStrangeTrap Жыл бұрын
I also wouldn't call it a masterpiece, I enjoyed it while I was younger and it's iconic, but I can't really say it has much that sets it apart from most slasher films

all the content creators and players who are passing over there. I ask God that they stay there. Don't come back for a dlc or "to see how the game is going". NEVER COME BACK. TexasChainMassacre is a fantastic game. which surely won't bore you in 3 months due to lack of new maps and using the same 3 killers and 4 survivors all the time. I'm sure the game will have the best content.

Seems like victims can die in this game quicker than someone can get tunneled out of a dbd game, that doesnt seem like a good thing, specially if queue times are longer.

Yeah I once played a match as bubba, decided not to go for hits and just rev my saw and yet all victims died within 5 minutes. Basically if even one family member is a "sweat" no one will survive. Other than that though it's a very fun game, although I don't think any family member should be able to crawl and squeeze like victims. Or maybe impose a cooldown on them for family members.

The great thing about TCM is the amount of different ways to escape. But the environments feel the same. After 100 games, it’s going to feel repetitive. In DbD, you get to go against or play as different iconic killers or survivors. Do I really want to keep playing as or against Leatherface? If people really want to play a game as a team of killers, go play Left 4 Dead.

There's room for both games. Both games has positives and negatives imo. But ofc TCM being the new kid on the block it will have a big surge of players. Lets see how things fare in 6 months. In any case I hope both games thrive.
@lazarusmetcalfe2423 Жыл бұрын
It’s a nice change of pace game. Considering how much more content (maps, perks, characters, etc.) DBD has over TCM and likely always will since TCM is realistic and not arcadey, I don’t see a scenario where it’s ever a DBD killer. Both are fun though.
@thesavagegummybear7341 Жыл бұрын
The games have a similar idea, but I still don’t think they’re really comparable, but the amount of content in dbd is so extensive that for tcm to catch up is kind of gonna be a challenge, I’m not really sure how much else they can add to a game like tcm but I do hope it does well
@ale23kingj24 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but come on, don't be pathetic and think. It is a game that is not even 5 days old, what do you think? It has 3 maps and multiple killers and survivors, as time goes on they will add more. Your BDB crap when it came out didn't have all the crap it does now.
@thesavagegummybear7341 Жыл бұрын
@@ale23kingj24 first off, it was merely an inference about what direction the game could possibly go, second of all, it’s it a licensed game, where as *DBD* not BDB, is an unlicensed game with licenses in it, it’s harder to add things like Michel Myers to a *Texas chainsaw massacre game*, third, did you even read my comment before going into a blind tirade? I said the game’s aren’t comparable meaning the gameplay is quite different and it’s difficult to tell how it will end up, and finally, “don’t be pathetic” if you looked at the last line, I said I hope it does well, DBD has needed competition for along time now, they’ve cornered the market and are getting complacent because they know no matter what they do they can get away with it, even if it pisses of the community, very similar to bungie and destiny 2 in that way, if you just put that much snarky bs in every comment than I just feel bad for you.
