Loadmaster is the best career in the Air Force. I did it for 21 years on MC130E/H’s and had a lot of fun. A lot sucked too but the job itself was cool.
@Outlawv219922 ай бұрын
EASILY the best enlisted career. The only thing that sucks is not very much civilian transferability but I think as loads we expect that is going to happen when we retire or separate. There simply is no better job...

I really want to get stationed overseas & fly globally (stick away from the states). I want to fly a lot also, I’m single so don’t mind being up in the sky. What would be the best airframe to pick to fill in those wants? C5, C17 or C130?
@Outlawv21992 Жыл бұрын
Well flying “globally” won’t happen on C130s as they don’t have a huge amount of range. But you will fly a lot and u could easily get stationed overseas. C17s are also at some overseas bases and they have a global Mission. C5s are only at Travis and Dover and there are no bases for C5 overseas. But you will fly everywhere. So based on what u said I’d say go C17

im looking to enlist and become a loadmaster. im 20 with no wife and no kids. im aware that recruiters dont like to work with people who are set on getting on one specific job. how do i increase my chances of getting this job?
@Outlawv219929 ай бұрын
Tell your recruiter you would like to come in with a guaranteed job PRIOR to leaving for basic training. There will be minimum ASVAB scores that you need to be considered. If you have scores above those minimums then you can be considered for those jobs. Don't let your recruiter talk you into something else cause THEY think it would be cool, or because those are the jobs they are trying to fill. If this is YOUR life then you must choose something you want to go into. Or else you just don't enlist. However of course if it is your choice to just be in the military then of course you can choose something they recommend. I came in with a guaranteed job when I enlisted. I ended up cross training into the LM field at the 9 year mark.

What’s the most dangerous thing that’s happened as a load master
@Outlawv219926 ай бұрын
I had a couple of things happen to me flying. I had a helicopter dump a few gallons of fuel down my back as we pressurized out of Iraq and the fuel tanks started weeping. We lost about 3000 feet of altitude over the atlantic due to some type of pressure disturbance and i seen about ten passengers fly into the ceiling as a result. A few sketchy landings in the weather... and of course during loading i've had a few incidents like bouncing helos into the ceiling while winching and stuff... nothing that we didn't figure out tho...

Does a loadmaster operates just one specific aircraft out of the c5,c17,c130, or can operate all of them ?
@Outlawv21992 Жыл бұрын
Good question. Initially when you attend school you will attend classes with ALL Aircrew members performing a multitude of jobs. Then the training gets more specific and you will be with only Loadmasters in Basic Loadmaster school. Learning the basic fundamentals of loading, weight and balance, winching, load planning, etc... Finally when you graduate BLM you will be sent to your LIQ school which is either C5, C17, or C130 all at different school locations. C17's and C130's actively fly in school. C5's do not. Being qualified on multiple airplanes is almost impossible because to be considered "Current" on an airplane you have to log at least one sortie every 60 days or else you are noncurrent and would need to be brought up to speed. You can retrain however from one MDS to another if needs dictate and your career field manager allows it. It happens alot though. Several of my old C5 buddies are now on C17's in fact.... Simply because as more C17's came online the need for crewmembers also increases. Hope this helps.

Not a bad idea for a video. The problem is there are so many ways to pay and the vendors keep changing how to do it. I have always used western union mostly and it worked great... Zelle from my bank sucks..

Can i take ranger school if my job is loadmaster?
@Outlawv21992Ай бұрын
Absolutely not.... Not even the same service. Rangers belong to the Army. Loadmasters fly in the Air Force (mostly).

Sir, Can you be load master from marines or army and if so what the process or what the mos etc
@Outlawv21992 Жыл бұрын
I believe the army and marines have a version of loadmaster but it’s called something different. Each service will have its own criteria. I can only speak for the air force but any service recruiter can offer you much more information than me

Is the math hard on asvab test?
@Outlawv219924 ай бұрын
As I remember it as it's been awhile it was pretty standard stuff. I think there was some basic algebra and geometry stuff.. high school level stuff...
@astronun4 ай бұрын
@@Outlawv21992 Do you use algebra and geometry every day as a loadmaster? And what is the hardest part of being a loadmaster?
@Outlawv219924 ай бұрын
@@astronun No you use a lot more physics based math. Weight vs distance from a measured point on the airplane exerts force on the airplane at different rates depending on the distance from that point. Long division and multiplying big numbers is common. I think the hardest part of being a loadmaster is understanding it's more than a job. It's a lifestyle. You can fly for weeks on end, away from home. You need to either make sure you are prepared to be able to deal with that lifestyle as a single person, or have a support structure behind you that is capable of handling your responsibilities at home when you are flying.
