Swindon voted in Conservative Council in 2005 which finally lost power to Labour Recently. Polling Shows the Tory MPs too are about to be booted out too. No wonder as all promises of regeneration have never materialised.

He hoped for more money for the NHS? Did he EVER look up what the UK was actually investing in its membership in the EU? It paid around 8.5 bn net and it got about 80 bn in return for that as was predicted back then and as you can see now with the diminished GDP. Apart from that, 8.5 bn translates to around 163 million per week, how is anyone possible to invest 350 out of 163 million into anything even if he would invest everything spent? DO try to think before you vote, it actually helps!

But if you don’t know the answer is not to abstain but to maintain the status quo. Ex-Swindonian here, so let me give you Brexit in a nutshell.. me (the EU) and you (the UK) share a house, I make all the rules, anything you want to do has to go through me, I also drag you into problems of my making that don't concern you, you understandably get tired of all this and move out so you can make your own decisions and carve your own way, having moved into your new place you realise that I've rung ahead and made it so that I still make all the decisions and am now punishing you for leaving by not letting you lay carpet or paint the walls, and on top of that now everyone's blaming you for moving out, not exactly a fair outcome is it? Oh and btw Swindon has some of the coolest, most inspired creative and upright folks going but you'll be lucky to find them amongst the office droids and mainstream-eating plebs that make up the majority, they keep out the way with their noses firmly in their interests, poets, artists, musicians, dancers, many who are even internationally known in their chosen fields create their own microcosms, the town's NEVER catered for them, so they gather in the shadows away from the booze and brawl of the centres umpteen tacky watering holes, the inept council and incompetent chancer politicians come and go profiteering from the towns general inbred apathy, I was born and raised there, made some amazing memories and friends, together we carved acheivements way above our station IN SPITE of the place being what it was, when the GWR shop shut the soul of the town died, a once proud place then became a lab for whatever new-fangled social engineering scheme the government could magic up (Mondex et al.), many of us had nowhere locally to shine so took our talents elsewhere, many passed away, some are still there keeping above water in what's essentially become a 3rd world dumping ground, I'll always love my hometown and it breaks my heart to see what it's become

Before the UK joined what would become the EU, it was in the shitter, "the poor man of Europe" - and it was only allowed to join because it had some allies who insisted that the UK should be allowed! You've never had it so good! As a Conservative voter in the past I urge all people to do two things. Firstly, let us get away with it. Brexit got done. Don't worry, move on, they lost and we won. We don't want to rock the boat. So what if food is more expensive and job losses pile up, it will only needs more time and now isn't the time for change. If you're not happy with the Conservatives then don't vote at all, that's the best thing to do. You can't be blamed then, can you? Secondly we must prevent people at large becoming more informed about politics in general and the benefits of free trade with the EU. Only if we achieve these two objectives will things remain as they are. You've never had it so good.

I live in a pretty affluent part of London. There have been food shortages. Even Waitrose has suffered empty shelves. It seems to be transitory though. The thing is, wealthy people will just put up with it. They'll still eat. So what if the price goes up a little? There are also people around here who aren't well-off. And they are struggling, like most of the country. London's not an easy place to live in if you don't earn a lot. I think a lot of people forget why Brexit was so popular. People were desperate even then. They thought they had nothing to lose. They believed all the "it's the EU's fault" or "it's all the foreigners". They genuinely thought things would get better. And now they know.

House of Fraser closed in the Brunel Centre, Debenhams closed, Marks and Spencer closed. Free parking axed at the weekends. Interminable roadworks on the A420 and in Swindon town centre. The main reason that farmers are badly off is that supermarkets dictate prices paid to farmers. Milk producers have operated at a loss for years. Food processors and retailers profit at the expense of farmers. The designer outlet took custom away from Swindon town centre. Swindon is run down and needs a greater police presence.

The interviewer is very obnoxious and patronising. How have you turned a discussion around peoples views on a town to Brexit? Obviously you have a blinkered view of why town centres are going down the pan. A lot of the lack of footfall in shops is down to online shopping. Issues affecting businesses such as increases in costs such as gas are attributable to the Ukraine invasion, embargos on Russia and effects on supply chains caused by a lack of supply of timber, etc. from Ukraine. The EU has plenty of problems, beef farmers in Ireland are under the cosh and farmers in other countries are finding it difficult to survive. I didn't vote Brexit but to blame it as the be all and end all of all issues is disingenuous.
