because of the influence of communism from the 1950's to the 1980's of the Soviet Union, there is now a good 40% of Atheism in the Germany (West Germany). Atheism is quite common

I'm happy that the Germans, and honestly the Europeans are generally non-hostile to religion, and whether they're believers or not, they're honest enough to stand for their beliefs. This is coming from an Asian Catholic Christian with several atheist friends.

I do not know why people say they speak so fast; I get that this is Easy German for learners, but I love how there is this assimilation into the common language. If you can learn to keep up with these conversations easily, then you have taken a large step to almost mastering German. They do indeed speak fast, but if sometimes you just have to go with it or watch the video again and again and again. These videos are definitely not suppose to be sole methods of learning. If anything, you should learn vocabulary first, especially verbiage, then try to learn how it is used in the conversation.
@pneulancer8 жыл бұрын
+Jake Jacobs (SnazGamingHD) There is some measure of truth to your statement however, given that this is called "easy" German I'm not sure there's a substantial amount of validity to your argument. It seems rather contradictory. If one were teaching intro to philosophy, it would be counter-intuitive to start with Jean Paul Sartre when Socrates or Plato would suffice. Slower, in this case would be much more beneficial than speedy stream of consciousness!
@bubbles31218 жыл бұрын
when the learns get to Germany they are in for Rude awakening. they also need to hear it at its full speed and this is it. Sure, there are slowed videos on KZbin and they are a lot easier to follow but still people in Germany speak just like they do in these videos. it sounds fast to us because we are not used to it just yet. but, to always watch the slowed videos doesn't always help when you're in person and can't understand. in German last year I didn't understand anything people said to me. I'm working on my hearing at full speed.

Agree ! The "problem" is with the youth interviewers - they speak like if thy were on a "gear" or metaamfetamine :)) When you get the videos where the elders speak, it will be comprehensible. It's quite interesting. I wouldn't say that's the same in my country - this extremely distinctive difference in pace speaking. It seems to be such a difference in Germany, at least in these videos, which are, though, very helpful.

It'd be nice if they did a more thorough job in translating what's being said. Like, just for once the expression "...jeden Fall...", thrown in every other sentence. Does it mean anything? Is it worth translating? In the introduction the hostess said something like "...lauf in d' Stadt, fragt die Leute..."; but i guess the title-writer was too lazy to render it even in the German. If the lady is talking too fast for even the German titler, then it is too fast for ausländer trying to hear it.
