Jade permanent residency application submitted on August 26, under fsw program with CRS score of 513 passport request sent on January 19 am outside of Canada and it took only 4 Months to receive an approval.

Hi Jade, thanks for the information. With regards to proof of contact, I did 8 pages, however when it was translated, it became 19 pages, is it crucial that once its translated it has to be 10 pages or less? What happens if I send more than 10 pages of proof of contact? Thanks in advance

Hi Jade, thank you for informative videos. My question is regarding Spousal open work permit (My spouse is student in Canada). We got married after getting her student visa but we’re daring from past 3.5 years (we have chat records, travel photos, bills, etc). Should we narrate the reason of getting married after she got her student visa in the “relationship narrative/ cover letter” OR should we NOT mention anything about this ourselves? Hi there, I’d probably have to review your situation more closely, I would just be mindful to avoid any issues of questions pertaining to past cohabitation (could be seen as common-law). Regarding the timing of the marriage you can get married whenever you want, so I don’t see a need to explain.

hi Jade, my soon to be wife hasn't been able to come to Canada due to covid and travel restrictions in the last year. I've been over to her a bunch of times and we have been in other countries traveling. She hasn't had a chance to meet my family because of this. My family knows about us though. Thanks for the help and lovely videos Jade. qq, So just wanted to know is the 5476 representative form mandatory to fill if I am filling the outland sponsorship for my wife. I am filling most of the forms by myself and then my wife signs the forms where she needs to. Sometimes we do screenshare. I am guessing the sponsor fills the forms usually in all cases. Do we still need to fill this form. Is there a way that IRCC will know if it was the sponsor filled the form instead of the principal applicant . Regards.

The form is for when you're using someone to help you with the application, paid or unpaid. Both the sponsor and PA will have access to the application.

Hello, ii am living with my partner for almost a year now, and we decided to apply for common law sponsorship. Probably few months from now...unfortunately, both of us are not really fond of taking pictures and probably also bec we never think that we will be needing pictures before as we never think of this spousal sponsorship before....aside from that, the relationship started and up until now diring the pandemic when the was lockdown and we cant travel r go here and there, pkus of course the pandemic greatly affects everyone financially....how can we possibly deal with that if photos are very important part of the application?

Hello Jade.I am so concerned about the fact that I did not add any letter from friends or family who knows about our relationship because a lawyer told me if I consider would help my application but they did not mention that it was a must.Would that be a red flag for refusal application?

Hi Frangy, It’s not always a must for the application, other evidence is also considered. If IRCC has additional questions, they’ll get in touch with you to request more information.

It is a good video. I am going to fill out the inland application form as soon as my future spouse arrives to Canada and we are planning to do a marriage certificate here in Canada, but I cant find the application form for open work permit? Anyone knows where it is?

You would apply for a regular open work permit through the Application for a work permit from within Canada: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/apply.html. I hope that this is helpful!

Hi Walid, IRCC has stated that if they sent you a COPR, but you haven’t been able to go to one of our offices in Canada to validate it, they’ll contact you to tell you what to do. Use the web form if you need to update your contact information. You can read more about this here: bit.ly/3o98SlX

Yes, regardless of the length of the marriage, you will need to provide the required supporting documents for a spousal sponsorship application.

Hi Jade, Hope you are doing well. Thanks for the lovely videos you are creating. My wife and I met on a matrimonial website(we liked each other's profile so no parents involved). Chatted for 3 months. Then I went to my native country. Got engaged and legally married during my 3 month trip . I had a query related to IMM 5532e Part C. 1) Will this be called arranged marriage as per this question: Was your marriage arranged?. 2) If you are not living together, have you visited each other during your relationship. We met each other multiple times but only during the same visit that I was there for 3 months and not before. Was curious to know what to answer there. Thanks again for the help!

Hi there, I would call this a “love marriage”, arranged refers to those who are in more traditional cultural marriage where the parents match the couple. I think there is a bigger issue here about your visits to one another, sometimes I recommend waiting and visiting one another a few times during the relationship before you file for sponsorship. Your family should also be aware of the relationship and ideally have met the other person.

Hi Paccy, it can take months to receive acknowledgement of receipt from IRCC. I wouldn't be concerned yet since you submitted your application in December.

Hi Neha, Yes it is. If it’s not available in your country you need to include a letter of explanation and additional documentation, I also include an affidavit.

It does help as far as showing the relationship is legitimate in my experience. There is a second part of the legal test that says that you need to show that the application is not filed just for the purpose of immigration.

In this case I would take a look at what else you have to prove your relationship. Will they write letters of support? Do you have pictures with comments on social media? The application is looked at holistically.

I have a fiancé in canda, she is a Canadian citizen, we are planning to get married in few months time, am in NIGERIA right now, she just sponsor her dad for the super visa, while filling the application, she made a mistake my saying she is sponsoring someone else as well, that was a total error as she is not, the application was refuse because her income is not enough to sponsor two people, so want to appeal if approve can that effect her sponsoring me

Oh no sorry to hear, generally you cannot appeal the decision of the officer, but I could take a look at the refusal. It shouldn't affect the application for the spousal application.

Hi Ahamad, Canada does not have a job seeker visa. We have work permits; however, in most cases, you need a job offer from a Canadian employer to apply.

Hi Abdool, certain countries can be more difficult to obtain documentation from, we suggest often that couples look to get alternative documentation to support an application. For example, we submit many applications from Saudi Arabia where it's difficult to get documentation in the wife's name, as a result, we often look to provide more letters of support, photos, etc. and provide letters of explanation when documentation is missing. The advantage of the spousal sponsorship class is that it is a paper-based application that allows us to provide additional or alternative documentation in the absence of the requested documentation.
