Thanks for making this. Had the same exact issue when I built the dc3 with the Iflight f7 stack. Thought it was the motors so swap motors and same issue. Came to conclusion it was the thin arms on the frame that made it shake so I parted it out and used it on a 5”quad. Now after seeing this I’m going to try dc3 out again.

Yup me too same exact thing. Except I swapped frames, a motor, an lc filter I had just installed before finally figuring out, oh...let me disable one of the gyros. Bam fixed.

Great video AK, I had very same issue with a old Mamba stack from GTR90. Going back awhile. But sounds like gyro. The OG GTR90 had this gyro , from what I remember. I also tossed it. Thanks for your help and time.. Greatly appreciated!

Had the same issue with both of my 30.5 f7 dual gyro from iflight. Maybe it's a quality issue. I just use one Gyro on both and the quads fly like butter 😊
@juggalizzle754 жыл бұрын
I had one (same FC) that did the same thing. It would also "stick" if i did a flip or roll and continuously do it very fast till it crashed. I fixed it the same way but swapped it out later.

Wouldn't you be able to see the raw gyro data on the line graphs in Configurator? At least then you could determine if it was a failing gyro or a bad filter configuration or tune. I've had to adjust the "gyro_calib_noise_limit" threshold on aging, well-crashed gyros before but the total failures usually happen during a hard impact. That wobbliness looks like noise in the data coming from the sensor, otherwise it'd just flip out and you'd get the Flyaway error.
@juggalizzle754 жыл бұрын
My bad gyro did just what you said. A full stick movement would equal a flip or roll of death. I would also get gyro calibration arming errors at times. At least i assumed the gyro was bad

How do you explain simply turning one off and switching to the other one and it all flies OK? It can't be PID related. If so, please explain.

@@AlbertKimTV If this is the right FC; www.iflight-rc.com/image/cache/catalog/product/SucceX-mini-F7-TwinG-V3/SucceX-mini-F7-TwinG-V3%20(7)-1000x1000.jpg then I'm not sure. One chip is oriented differently, and also might be subjected to a thermal differential given the relative location of other chips on the board. I wonder if you can look at the differences in raw sensor data when you switch between the two gyros and see what's behaving differently, with everything disarmed on the bench.
@mistercohaagen4 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertKimTV Also, I've heard manufacturers use old used chips from time to time. Or maybe there is a lose connection once everything starts vibrating during flight. I'm sure one is bad, but I'm curious as to why / how it's bad.
@juggalizzle754 жыл бұрын
If it was a single gyro I could see noise filtering or tune but if one works fine and not the other that would pretty much rules those out i would think. It would almost have to be the gyro, or something connected to that gyro but not the other, that is the problem.

Hey Al hope your well sorry about the problem. One of my buddy's had the same problem and did the same fix. Do you think that the dual gyros can sometimes get confused and just burn out or do you think it's quality related. Take care and good to see you got her flying.

I'm wondering if this is an issue with the ICM gyros (32khz) in general. I guess I'll find out as more people respond.

Glad you figured it out. Seems to fly really well. I am just wondering how you managed to get a CADDX system without a problem. I have had 2 Tarsier systems with dirt on sensors and out of focus - both Video feed and HS lenses out of focus on both. Seems Caddx has decided that no longer can spend the time to actually focus their cameras so they can send out CRAP. Yours seems nicely in focus. You got a good one.
@AlbertKimTV4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, their QC is not the best when it comes to dust and lens focus. I have been fortunate for the most part. I've gotten a few Caddx cams with dust in them but it's easy to unscrew the lens, blow out the inside with an air can and screw the lens back on. If it was already in focus, just make sure the lock ring doesn't rotate so when you put the lens back on, it will be in focus again when you tighten it down. For me, this is not a big deal as I'm willing to spend a little time to correct these issues myself and save some money. It's not a deal breaker, just a bit annoying.

Does a gyro not matter if you fly acro? Or am I confusing that wth the accelerometer? I guess the craft still needs to know front from back, up from upside down and, left from right. WRT your request for comment: I have always avoided he ICM gyros due to their sensitivity. Most of my builds have as much dampening on the motors and the FC that I can provide and I don’t want issues with vibration as, we all know, can be disruptive and hard to solve. Even though I am a technologist, and have worked with controls system before, I hate PID loops! Perhaps I don’t have the patience to tweak and fly, tweak and fly, tweak and fly (or tweak and run the system and watch for anomalies) I know the PID is essential for proper controlled behaviour of any system, but it does not mean I have to like them...or can’t do the most I can to avoid them 😄 Thanks for the content, and Happy Thanksgiving!

How about a problem like this? After flying in angle or horizon mode for a bit (like 3 minutes on a 8 minutepack), it starts drifting. The longer u fly, the more it drifts but, if u land, disarm and rearm. She'll fly level again. Even after recalibration. Flight controller target is a omnibus f4sd. Running on frsky. 3 quads setup the same. One with this problem. Running emu flight and betaflight. Same issue.
@AlbertKimTV4 жыл бұрын
That's an accelerometer issue. I'm not sure if that's the same chip or inside the MPU.
@Rich-TeaFPV4 жыл бұрын
From what I've heard it can happen, and probably is quite common, that an fc will lose calibration over a flight and start drifting. Previous crashes being a common cause. Most pilots don't notice as they are flying in acro mode. While I would recommend learning to fly acro to get the best experience from flying, it's not necessarily as long as you're enjoying flying as you are. You could try recalibrating your transmitter sticks, I've has issues with my tx and drifting, or changing the fc 😁👍👍
@gungearz35994 жыл бұрын
@@Steve-O_FPV I do fly acro. That's what mode setup is for. It's nice to have that option for aerial viewing (recording sunrises and sunsets) and to inspire other people to fly that never flew before.

@@AlbertKimTV Let me tell you I had same issue. They sent a replacement and the issue still persist. I tried dissableling 1 gyro, tried loading the original config file, nothing. Then one guy from UAV Tech worked on my Filters and PIDs. Problem solved. There was a lot of filter issues and how the factory config file handle it. I use both Gyros now and they work fine.
