Despite being a straightforward job title, people often confuse the roles and responsibilities of a documentation specialist.

A documentation specialist (or simply document specialist) is a professional who works under the administration department. They are responsible for looking after the precious documents of their company, cataloging them, and retrieving them when needed, among other things.
Document specialists can have different job titles in different companies or sectors. For instance, in the healthcare sector, where these professionals are needed the most (apart from the finance and legal industry), they’re commonly referred to as “clinical documentation specialists.”
The employment rate for this occupation is expected to go up in the years to come. While there isn’t any data specifically for the documentation specialist job title, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) does project an 8% growth in demand for medical records and health information technicians (a related role) through 2029.

Thank you so much for your channel and this video! Got a job interview for Documentation Technician in a laboratory and the title got me very confused with librarians or stuffs like that. I'm really excited about this opportunity to work in a laboratory, or close to it. I've always been working in offices and I wasn't sure if I was qualified for that position. I think you have just described an integral part of my job. Im a technical manager for a facility management company and I just realized that I do this as a part of my role of ensuring that there is compliance to sop. Im interested in your certified technical writer certification but I don't get the difference between the 1 certification package and the 7 certifications package? Perhaps a video on that?
