Indeed I love all doggies from German Shepards to Golden Retrievers to Black Labs to Collies to Frenchies to Boston Terriers. Plus I am a cat fanatic. German Shepards are such smart, loyal & loving dogs. Look at Rocky’s face. You can tell he has such a warm disposition. What a handsome boy.

@@Jok3st3r All dogs are amazing & all expressive in their own way I think German Shepards, goldens & collies plus other breeds are expressive more analogous to a human’s way of expression which is why we find it so striking & endearing. Their eyes have soul & warmth. Our cats & dogs are one of this life’s greatest gifts & treasure. They truly are amazing. I really believe they make us better people. More human.

They want to play with each other, but they just dont know how. Rocky is a gentle giant that is a puppy at heart. But many praises should go to his human mum and dad for giving excelent "education" to Rocky, Bailey, etc. A well behaved dog has a excelent owner

We've had two GSD-mixes find us. One was five months old when he came to live with us. The other, four yrs later, was five weeks old when she trotted into our lives. The first one, from day one, was thoughtful & respectful of us. NO training required. He would actually stop and let me walk up the stairs ahead of him. Blew my mind. He then trained the pup to be a very good girl. Something innate.

When I was 20 I lived in NYC with a woman, two adult male German Shepherds Dogs and two male adult Shorthair American Tabby cats. We all got along beautifully. Cats would sleep dogs curled up with the GSDs or lay on them, just so mellow with each other. Yet one of the dogs was trained to protect this woman on the streets of New York, which he actually did, stopping her from being the target of a mugger. This all in a ONE ROOM apartment. Now years later, I am in Vermont with a wife, two daughters, and three GSDs. The brindle male is big, 112 lbs., the next one, a girl, is mostly black, about 73 pounds, and our little one, a female Blue GSD, gray-blue coat and blue eyes, about 35-40 lbs. They are a treasure . Such an outstanding breed. - BG

I have a German shepard and she was always raised with cats. When I got my youngest kitten, my dog was very protective over her. My older cat would have to be very gentle with the kitten because my Shepard would come over to check things out if she felt the kitten was being mistreated. She would move my older cat away from the kitten with her nose.

I think he is super gentle for a GSD. We had a GS and cat when I was little and they liked eachother lots too. Even same colours. The dog passed away before the cat (long years before). I can guarantee you they'd be good friends.
