What Does a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Do For a Living?

A dietitian should be apart of each primary care practice. When we go for our yearly check ups a prescription to a dietitian should be apart of it because you all are health care professionals and you can take insurance so what’s the problem…By the time the patient is at the hospital the conditions are usually acute. Thank you for all you do dear! Appreciate the work dietitians do!💜👏 I belive you have the professionalism and know how to make that change happen. I’ve only seen dietitians as apart of primary care provider groups in the most affluent areas. Hope you can make that change happen dear! Get a group of dietitians to raise the concern! I would but I’m not qualified! Just a health coach. Appreciate your channel and what you do!💜🍏

As a community RD, that is far from what I do. Community RDs also work in food systems. That could be food security, health and wellness, diabetes education, public policy, and grant work for interventions in the community like schools. Some dietitians work in mental health and eating disorders and research.

Hi, this is a great video. But I want to ask about the sudden change of requiring a master's degree on January 1, 2024. I will be starting a nutrition science program beginning of August this year, is there any career or job associated with a nutrition science degree?

Yes! You could teach, work at WIC or other community oriented jobs. When searching for jobs I would look for jobs with nutrition in the job description vs searching for the job title “nutritionist”

And also I wanted to know if doing Minor in Public health, can make me a public health Nutritionist? Is that right? And lastly I want to know if Nutritionist are incensed or not?
