I had one cat that became extremely aggressive when she smelled catnip, even a mouse toy with catnip in it. All the others zoned out or acted like they were having the time of their life.

Yeah my cat that responds to cat nip gets really aggressive. He doesn’t normally swat, but he’ll swat me if he has some. Or he’ll chase the other cat around the house.

My cat had UTI crystals surgery and I used the cat nip, in small amount for smell. It help her appetite to start eating and drinking water again. It made her feel better. The vet didn't give her pain medicine after the surgery. Very strange. Any way the nip did help her with everything. She didn't eat any of it but she really enjoyed being there in it. She's almost 5 years old

My rescue barn cat goes to crazy... he's not used to people so playing is always a scratch risk, but when there is nip, he goes for the kill, and the Claws become razors!

My cat got addicted as heck to cat nip changed his whoooole persona, still give it to my current kitties but I will never give another cat of mine access to cat nip daily again. Went from such a fun cat to only coming around to harass me for the nip then roll in it eat it and leave 😅

I have those meowijuana types - happy grass, skull cap, and mice dreams, and they really seem to like the skull cap. Both of my cats don't really go wild, but they usually just eat it and then sit around looking happy. My younger cat, chloe, (in the profile pic) didn't respond to it until she was about a year old. I do make sure to pick out any stems I see when i pour a little out. I usually give them the treat once a week.

Best catnip I’ve found is at the dollar tree- yes, and it’s $1! Its better than any expensive cat nip I’ve found from the pet stores. I use a ton of it at the shelter where I volunteer to help the cats feel better.

I walk my cat on a leash, and every so often she'll find a patch of grass where she'll act like she does with catnip. She'll sniff it, yawn, look around, rub her chin and cheeks, look around, sometimes seems to be eating it, and repeats all this for awhile. The first few times she did this, I thought she found a catnip patch. But it's not usually the same place, and sometimes it can be on the side of something like a utility pole. My son half jokingly says it's where an animal has peed. I have no idea, but she thinks it's good stuff.

I recently bout a round scratcher with short little side walls. I put catnip in it, and my cat really enjoys scratching it, and laying in it. He fits nice and tightly within it. It's saving my furniture.

The vet also gave my cats cat nip when they were kittens to calm them at the vet and it certainly worked. Careful what info you listen to always in your best interest to ask a vet before making any changes.

The original Cosmic Catnip Banana was the best... the one with the blue and green embroidered logo on it. I bought lots of those. That one. That whole company has changed, they're not the same. They used to grow and sell some of the best catnip but that's been 20 years ago at least. Anyway, for the first time that I've ever had cats, I have two that are brothers and neither one reacts to catnip. I can't believe it. 😪 Never have I ever had a cat that didn't react to nip. I'm so sad for them.

Awhile back I was " Babysitting " the Parents house. And so I Plated some Plants one or a few of which were " Catnip Plants " ! One day after they grew I went out to the patio and to a " Cayenne Pepper Plant " . And While I was Selecting Peppers, all of a sudden I noticed this big " White Cat " off to my left side ! ? And I said; " Cat What are You Doing here " ? ! / And as I Pondered I saw a 1/2 Grown Kitten with " Red Glazed Eyes " Looking at me, While It was Sitting Behind The Fresh Catnip Plant that I had Grown ! Of Course the Plant was Pretty Well Chewed up ! And I Never Saw those Cats Again ! Needless to say they Weren't mine, / and I had Never seen them before !

My cat Viola loves catnip and I'm glad she can't overdose on it. When I first got a cat I was definitely concerned it affected her like a drug but didn't have any type of dosage information lol. "It's basically weed for cats, but I think you can overdose on weed..."

I've heard in rare occasions, catnip can actually change the personality of your cat. So we might want to be careful exposing it to our cats. Especially since we don't quite know how catnip effects our cats brains.

Try valerian root. Get pure valerian capsules without additives, and you can break them open and sprinkle it around. I’ve found it’s effective even for cats that don’t react to catnip- like my boy.

My cat loved nippin'. He was more of the slow, roll around and act totally stoned type. However, we would put down a plastic tarp and newspaper before putting down the nip because he would get so stoned, he'd lose control eventually and urinate himself. Interesting thing, though, speaking of becoming resistant. If we tried to give it to him more than once every 4-5 weeks, he would just look at it like, "What's that?" and walk away disinterested. So, yes, they can get a temporary resistance. Imagine if humans were like that with recreational drugs? Would solve drug addiction...

My cat Hoosier got ahold of a bag of khat leaves I had. She chewed into the bag before I knew and was zooming around the house. Thing is she tried afterwards again and again to get into the drawer where I had put the bag. I still have the same bag and if I break it out she comes running. I do not give it to her because I love her and am not so sure it is good for them. Probably not. So evidently cats are hardwired to feel the Khat experience to. That’s weird.

@@AllAboutCatsYT You know it could definitely be my expectations of the cat being hyped therefore that’s what I interpreted. Although when she comes running when I open the drawer and crinkle the bag is definitely not. She doesn’t run for other freezer bag noises. Just that one. The way she had acted wasn’t much like catnip but more like a hyperactive kid bouncing off the walls. Not many people know what Khat is. Only reason I know is cause sons mother is from Yemen and they have a little community here in Jax. They have lots of very different customs. Very small tight knit. Kind of a niche thing in this country. I’ve seen weirder things though. Seen a mallard on KZbin that somehow got blasted on Cubensis. I didn’t think they grew near yards or lakes. I would definitely not think a duck would indulge in something that foul tasting much less look like she was at burning man🤣🤣🤣 Supposedly she was fine though. Hey you have saved me from torturous research process though with this video. I ordered like a cat care package from China via Amazon and it had the flopping fish. Fishing poles and other toys with multiple bags of catnip. Then there is this bag of sticks. About twenty in a zipper bag about three inches long big around as quarter your pinky finger. I’m thinking what in the heck is this for. Dental hygiene? When the cats chewed the sticks weird things happened. More stimulant than catnip. I mean it turned the house into a freak show. The cats were doing odd things. So I put the sticks up. It was hard to wrangle them away though. Well you showed the same sticks same bag in the video. So now I know what it is. Never heard of it and yes yes it works and works well. I’d ay they prefer it. If that’s even possible.
