What does “correct French” ACTUALLY mean?

Just a thought but what is wrong with ‘correct’ French vs , say, correct English. For example, I have friends who drop the h’s, others leave out the t’s in the middle of words…be’er, bu’er or o’er…better, butter and otter or say use ‘f’ instead of ‘th’ or ‘k’ instead of ‘g’. I probably speak near to BBC English and I would speak with my friends the same way I have always spoken. If I were to speak like my friends they would probably think I am making fun of them. When does something become slang or when is it just mispronounced? I know that ‘wanna’ and ‘gonna’ are a sort of contraction that is used but again I do not say them. So, my question is, I suppose, when is something in any language a colloquialism, slang, mispronunciation, accent or just bad English/French?
