Yes, good stuff, I just got my GoPro recently and I liked being able to see the video on my phone so I could set it up on the bike correctly, then put the phone in my pocket and use the remote to start it when I was biking. The app is awesome but has it's limitations. Can't wait for the good weather to get out and shoot more video....

One thing that needs to be mention is that GoPro updates their apps. The app version that you download may work with your existing phone. However if you later should have to replace your phone, even getting the same model phone as you had before, the newer app may no-longer be compatible with your phone. I found that out recently. The work around is to try out the other remote apps, which I found one that has things laid out a bit better than the GoPro remote app..

Hi Mitch! I sure do admire your drive in getting stuff done. Thanks so much! Some of us NEVER want a cell phone in the system. Some of us don't trust and rarely use our cell phones. We don't like the idea that we can't go flying if our cell phone bill isn't paid up. ;) Some of us will only use the GO PRO wi fi remote or nothing. Now you know. ;)

Hey MyThomasTv, I had the same problem. Gopro said its a firmware issue. Fixed it by updating firmware or dragging the firmware file directly onto memory card and going through normal reset ( turn off, but when I turn on hold both buttons and don't let go of the top one til its finished, something like that, its on their website)

No more LifeProof case? We use our iPhones to control our GoPro more than the remote, and more often than just using the buttons on the camera. It seems like the remote battery doesnt last too long either. I do love it on the stem of my mountain bike though, but both have their place and we are happy to have two different options.

I did test of 50 yards with IPAD 4 and Samsung Galaxy 4 and no problem.. you need to be in visible distance.. also less humidity helps as well

You explain stuff really well mate! So helpfull to a new gopro user like myself :-) found the phone app really good for setting up on my helmet cam, but it does drain the battery super fast! One question if I may.... The little silver tab that comes with the remote, does it need to be in there....? I'm slowly getting there with better vids all thanks to you Mitch! Today is filming my 2 yr old, Saturday it's on the bike and some DH action! Luv it :-)

You are so good at problem solving fixes - maybe you would have a suggestion for me. I know the remote can do more than one camera, but the app only does one - well, I film a competition where I have a camera on a competitor up close and I want to go to using more than one camera/competitor at a time. with one I can use the app to see if the shot is lined up and start filming - but going to two cameras, I know the remote will let me start filming on the cameras all at once, but how can I make sure the camera is in the right position if the app only lets me preview one camera? any suggestions?

Hey MicBergsma! Thank you for your videos they are great and useful ! I have one huge problem and i couldn't find any video explaining the solution. Here it goes: When i take for example night photo there is often an issue of LIGHT. Urban lamps have nasty light line that is usually smeared all over the picture. It can happen also in daylight if there is a strong sun etc. Do you understand what i mean? If you could offer some suggestion how to fix this it would be great! Keep up the good work ;)

Too bad RC and APP can't work all together.. yeah multiple cameras but I wish I have phone or Ipad as reference and RC for controlling.. I have 3 remotes so It would be great to be able to use them without need to pair each one of them separately.. also after shutting them down and turning off the HD3 Black I get sometimes lost connection.. camera records.. remote on... no connection. GOPRO TOLD me to update firmware but they are all up to date :(

because if you use them on TV in your country and your TV doesn't support NTSC 24FPS 30 FPS, you might get B&W image.. not PC, no TV through PC but HDMI or RCA

At the moment Hero4 Silver is best for most consumers, and It has an integrated LCD on the back. But if you want/need 4K at 30fps then spend the extra Franklin for the Black and does not have an LCD.
