What is ASMR? Why am I whispering?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
My videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to provide stress relief (especially for those suffering from depression, anxiety and even PTSD), help people sleep and even serve as a study aid.

I have found that my happiness (my true happiness, not the kind I find when I get a cool new camera or jet off on a holiday) comes from being in nature. I think this comes from being a kid when I used to wander off to the quarry and fields I lived next to with my friend, we'd be gone for hours every day during the summer without a care in the world. Whenever I sit back and stare at the sky (day or night) I become very calm and peaceful and feel exceptionally content. That's not to say I don't adore spending a week in Spain or an evening with my friends but my true happiness comes from sitting in nature, staring at the sky and being happy in the moment.

Ah I smiled right through this video from the first moment to the delicious last- This video gave me happiness - I felt your enthusiasm and enjoyed your candour. I loved your beliefs- your presentation of happiness, the references to your own journey through the ages- and the way your face and eyes change when you speak of your son and wife - Thank you so much for doing this. It was wonderful.

I think you're absolutely right. I am least happy when my mind is affected. Happiness to me is clarity, being able to live and live with people in the moment, no filters, whether they be rainy day or rose tinted.

I suppose for me, happiness occurs in fleeting moments - moments in the outdoors, or with loved ones, moments of learning something new, even consecutive days spent doing interesting, enriching things make me full-on happy. I don't strive to feel that way all the time though - it would be unrealistic to expect to feel joy every second of every day. Instead I wish for a sense of equilibrium and understanding of my situations on a constant basis and the ability to find those 'happy' times regularly, no matter how fleeting they are, even if the wider situation is looking like it has gone pear-shaped.

I understand completely. I'm not looking to feel joy all the time and I think we can often get that confused with happiness. Well it is somewhat related. But you mentioned equilibrium and that's exactly what brings me happiness all day long: being balanced. Content. Thanks for your comments!

I think it is important to remember that Happiness is never constant, you are not always going to be happy no one is ever always happy. If we didn't know what it was like to be sad we wouldn't know what it was like to be happy. Writing comics makes me really happy. I can write/draw anything no matter how unreal and it's a nice little escape. I think happiness is also enjoying the simple things in life, being happy with who you are, loving yourself and the people in your life (flaws and all!), not staying mad, being greatful brings me a lot of happiness, loving things (having interests/passions/favourite things) in general is very happy. Feeling alive, motivated, or even just enjoying a walk or a cup of coffee. Relating to people instead of finding differences, and being on moving path you can be proud of, is also happiness to me. Those are mine. :)

Happiness comes from freedom, and freedom comes from wisdom. Very few people in our world have achieved these aspects. Most people however have artificial happiness, which is a coping mechanism to endure everyday life. It's like living in a prison and denying its existence. Job, success, money, and yes, even family are forms of egoistic forms of survival. Achieving any of these never bring you accomplishment, buy hunger for more. True happiness lies in indiscriminate love and respect for everyone and for everything.

I've heard the version where freedom comes from bravery. Freedom is poorly understood, because at it's core it's power over your own life, a situation where you control your own basic needs. Now this does not neccessarily make you happy. An old poet in my country said (my translation) "The one who walks the road is it's captive, freedom lies in the bank of snow.", Pursuit of happiness is an end in it self. I don't think it's healthy to let it control you. You'll might be happy doing the things you like and need, but it's not guarenteed or static state of mind. It does not need to be.

I've lost a few people very close to me within the past few years, so happiness for me is being near the people I love and getting to spend time with them. I don't care about cars, clothes, travel or anything like that. People and those relationships are the only thing I can't ever buy so if I have them, I have everything and I am happy. It's funny, we often envision ourselves pursuing something that has some kind of tangible reward that will fulfill us. I think most of us don't understand what will truly make us happy. I believe happiness is living with integrity (which is sometimes much easier to abide by then we think). It's living your top strengths and values every day, consistently. Happiness is not about acquiring tangible or even spiritual rewards, or "things". Personally, and this being something that ER touched base on, I have found that if you can be content with yourself alone and your thoughts and simply smile at the fact that you appreciate who you are, then you're in right direction. "All of humanity's problems stem from a man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone." -Blaise Pascal

Happiness is such a deep topic, I think each person has their own special things/lifestyle that make them happy. I also think there are so many levels of happiness. Doing an activity as you mentioned like video games or writing can make someone temporarily happy but how long until they long that feeling again because when they stop playing that game or writing that story they mostly stop feeling the stimulus it gives them, so happiness can possibly even branch off into addiction. There's a wider aspect of happiness too such as having the job you enjoy and people around you making you feel happy. I just believe everyone's different and life won't always be happy because if there weren't sad things here we wouldn't respect the relief happiness gives. I believe a balance of good things and bad things in our life is the best formula for living a good life.

People who say money doesn't buy happiness are crazy. Having an unlimited amount of money means never working, never working means more time to do the things you love and be with the people you care about. What that saying really means is "money can't buy you friends/true love". And that's true, but if you already have both of those and money. You're one happy bitch

Happiness to me is doing things I love, like sports, with people I like. For example, I've played base ball throughout my entire life. Throughout my childhood I would always come within reach of a championship but would always loose to the same man who stacked his team every year. So my last year before highschool we played a best two out of three championship series against him. I wanted to win, but I was just happy to be on the field. I never felt more alive then when our bleachers were packed and I crushed a home run to give us the lead, and finally, winning a championship. But the best part was being able play with and lead a group of guys that I considered my brothers, to total victory over a man that had no sportsmanship.

hapiness is just an emotion our brain creates when ur spirit is happy and i mean spiritual happiness thats when ull see and feel what happiness is like. Our brain can be happy in a few seconds and unhappy in the next second if something we didnt want to happen just happend, meaning is just an illusion-cycle that keeps going into our mind until we finally die and then reach the peak of peace.Im not saying we got to die to feel happr or peace but in order to b happy ur spirit has to be first :)

I think the heart of the matter of being happy is peace - deep seated, long lasting peace. I would call it inner autonomy. It's something that most of us seek and few of us find. I think it's something one has to cultivate from within himself. But how do we go about attaining this peace, this inner autonomy? I would say that by adopting amor fati - that by acceptance of one's life in its totality inner autonomy could be achieved. Realize what is under your control and accept what isn't, gain vital wisdom provided by experience, and perhaps then one would become closer to achieving this inner peace, inner autonomy.

Ok now... I HAVE TO SAY THIS. It is soooo important! You need to make more videos with mouth sounds like 23:35. Like when you have dry mouth. It is amazing. You are my fav asmr artist because you make the best kind of mouth sounds. You did the same at the 1st episode of minecraft sanctuary. And it was so amazing. Just include them in the video. It's not too big of a request, as I know you have so many of them. Thanks!

What is happiness anyways? A state of being? A mixture of chemicals in the brain? An ideology? All of the above? It's such a grand and elusive subject - I don't think it has any well-defined metaphysical definition.

I have a theory of my own when trying to explain why and where things come from. It's hard to describe, but it is based around an idea that something can't come from a definite number of others things. For example, I can't name where happiness comes from, because it comes from so many things, that it essentially comes from everything in some way. I am a very strong realist and the way I see it is with things that exist only in our mind, dont actually physically exist, therefore they come from nothing. So if I try to explain this what I end up saying is that: happiness comes from everything and from nothing. On another thought, we may be happy at one point with something and not be happy with it later. What I'm trying to say is that we may grow tired of something, and then someone may tell you "u should appreciate things more" but if it grows old to is and no longer beings happiness then why is it Wrong to not appreciate it any longer. What I'm trying to say Is "is is wrong to be unhappy when you have it much better than someone else. And if I answer that question I would say absolutely not. On another thought, we can try to put a scale on happiness and assign different levels to different things. But i personally done understand how one could do that. If I were to put a scale to happiness, it would say that either everything brings the same amount of happiness or that the scale I happiness is infinite. It's extremely difficult to describe what I'm saying, but like one of my professors once said, "we can never communicate with someone 100%" I think the true answer to this question lies in the idea that our minds don't exist, therefore there isn't an actual answer to this question. And there isn't meant to be. When I say "there isn't meant to be" what I mean is that nature designs everything and nothing. And our thoughts don't actually effect the world outside of us, so the answer to the question doesn't actually exist. It makes me uneasy to know that I will never truly be able to describe why I'm saying. But at the same time this thought enlightens me

Having chronic depression there isn't too much that makes me really happy but if I had to pick one it would be my best friend (I know it sounds cliche and corny) but if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here today.

I know this will get lost in the comments but I hope someone sees it. Happiness to me means I don't trudge through life because I have to. I run through life because I WANT to. Waking up in the morning knowing that someone will be there to love you, be it in the same bed or miles away. Providing for yourself or your bf/gf or just your family through a job you enjoy doing. I don't even wan't nice things in life. I just want a life that when I wake up in the morning I feel glad to live and can't wait to get out of bed for. Then again, what do I know about being happy? I've never been "truly" happy a day in my life.
