A relaxing ASMR session where I use a few trigger objects such as wooden blocks and bubble wrap while I discuss, contemplate and explore my thoughts and ideas on a wide variety of topics related to the world of ASMR ranging from the triggers to the amazing community and people, the energy involved, spiritual aspects and even the future of ASMR and beyond KZbin.
As always, thanks for watching and for your support.
Namaste!

A muffled gulp, the delicate smack of lips parting and inadvertent throat noises produced in speech...I don't know if it's intentional, and I have never seen or heard it explicitly mentioned, but these are triggers I particularly enjoy.

I love the way this guy explains the subject. He's very down to earth. He simplifies the subject without sacrificing any of ASMR's...I guess you'd say the "finer points" of ASMR. Well done.

As a medical student I found it incredible to learn how ASMR can lower blood pressure and even stop a persons heart attack, truly, it happened on one of my shifts at the ER during my internship, it has to do with all the endorphin's our body is releasing during the process (The Tingling). It is so awesome that we as a species are naturally equipped with a mechanism like this one that can bring so much good into our lives in so many different ways, mother nature and human beings are so incredibly powerful. I Loved this video.

+Nina Divine I am a big fan of ASMR, but just gonna say that saying AMSR can stop a heart attack is a bit overreaching. Without knowing the exact situation I'd say it is more likely the medication and specific care that is typically given by EMS or the ER team to individuals potentially having a heart attack. For example most patients are given aspirin and some form of nitroglycerin asap to help with blood thinning and blood vessel dilation respectively.

I think you've made a lot of interesting points here and I appreciate your obvious honesty and enthusiasm. Regarding one topic in particular for which I have direct experience: I'm relatively new to the community and I don't have ASMR triggers myself, but I am into relaxation and meditation. I was introduced by some of my viewers about 2 years ago and I have to say I whole heartily agree with you about the community being full of caring. Most of KZbin is full of people making the comment sections on videos into trash heaps, but 99.99% of the comments I receive on a daily basis are all positive and full of caring. Because this community is awesome. Empathy abound here. Most of my viewers thank me for making their day, but knowing that I can do something like that for someone else, makes my day.

One of the things I love about the ASMR community and that I wish could be more widely spread, is the respect and kindness we afford each other. I don't think there is any other place on the internet so devoid of cruel and rude comments as this one and it's a shame that the rest of it isn't like this

I believe ASMR is being in a state of observational trance, Not worried about anything other than the current, being aware of everything around you, and the soft noise and movements are like dancing for the brain. Seems to me as if it is the state that a cat would be in when it purrs. Just complete joy, calmness, and relaxation. If it is in fact something every human can do (Which i'm quite certain it is) Then I really hope more people learn to do (appreciate) it because its an amazing part of being a human in my opinion =) Thanks for the vid Ephemeral!

I've always known I get the sensation (and truly love it), but just recently learned the term ASMR and you can imagine how elated I was when I discovered the ASMR online community. I told both my psychologist and psychiatrist about it, neither of which have heard of it, and they were extremely intrigued. There absolutely needs to be more scientific research behind this phenomena; imagine the mental health and well-being benefits if we were all aware and understanding of ASMR. I'm so grateful for people like you who make these amazing videos that have a true impact on those who experience ASMR. I'm excited for the future of ASMR, I truly believe it can help change the world.

Good ideas here. I'm not a deep ASMR fan but I find some of the talking videos complement the hypnosis/meditation videos and soft-spoken storytelling I'd been listening to. Your point about what if KZbin goes away and nobody in the communities knows how to contact each other is important both for ASMR and beyond. I'd suggest, first, an ASMR website to collect video/audio files independent of KZbin. Second, an Internet radio station, because it would be easier and faster to set up than terrestrial or satellite radio, which could come later. I listen to an Esperanto station (Muzaiko) which broadcasts through Radionomy. They have a 3-hour program which repeats for 24 hours.

Very interesting thoughts on the purpose of ASMR and spirituality. I agree that it is part of something bigger but we can't quite explain it yet. From personal experience and studying other faiths, I believe the "energy that brings everything together" most religions try to address has something to do with love. I think love is the reason we are all here and continue to exist, so maybe ASMR is a part of that?

I've gotta say ER that I loved this talk, so thought provoking!! I couldn't help but draw a parallel between what you're saying about the next stage in our evolution and what Russell Brand has been saying in recent times!! If you haven't already I think you should check out some of his recent inquests into the spiritual self and how we as a species can come together and act for the progression of humanity!! He doesn't always say it in the most serious of ways but the fundamental message is strikingly similar!! That there is a higher frequency of consciousness and union that connects everyone and that if we align ourselves with this higher frequency, be it through ASMR or meditation or music, then we will have reached or next level of evolution and can achieve so much more than the individual.. Would love to see a vid from you discussing your thoughts regarding this topic further. Keep up the amazing work, and thanks for such a great video x

Its's about watching people do things, services specifically, for you. It's the personal attention. It's not about specific sounds or watching someone play with a PS3 controller for no reason. It requires showmanship. Making an event out of, for example, putting aloe on a person's wounds, as ER has done at least a few times, is an example of what is in my opinion real ASMR. ER's first Santa's Helper is still one of the best ASMR videos I've ever seen. I still go back to it. His woods ones are good too, especially when he gets you things from his backpack. It is NOT just whispering into a microphone as so many people do while labeling it ASMR.
@EphemeralRift

I feel you brother There are ways in which we can bring that ASMR sensation, and the exercises we've developed around it, to bear in a conscious society. I think bringing it out into the art of the day is a great way to go...at least, that's something I've dreamt of doing for about 7 years now :-) hopefully one day I can get back to you about this and say, hey check this out man, be a part of this. Fingers crossed, I'm going for it. I hope you and your wife and son are doing well. The same things you were saying about ASMR being a ball of energy that can turn out to be something really special, if treated as such, sounded much like a parent talking about a precious child. Reminded me that you have a son. I hope you're all doing well :-)

Once you got to talking about the real world one things crossed my mind and that is that while many asmr things would be ok in a real life setting, there are also things that I for one only get the asmr experience from via the mic.... many sounds are made so wonderful this way.... crinkly bags in real life don't do anything for me but watching a vid of someone slowly/quietly crinkling does..... guess it would just be a case of finding out all the things that work one way or another.

My friend, I dig your channel, I love your passion and I agree so much with you, but I do believe you should rehearse some things for these kinds of videos to make them more fluent. After all, it's the fluency of vids that gives us these triggers. And hesitation, be it verbal or physical, does tend to break the immersion. Also, personally the sounds and smells of the dentist give me intense asmr triggers. I love the sound of the tools they use to check the teeth - the mirrors, the hooks to examine gums, the way they pull gently on the tooth to check its stability. My god, I wish I had the money for weekly checkups!

HEY!!! i loved this video and I've got a quick question. Are you going to continue the Relaxing Dead series? especially after last weeks controversial episode?

When you started talking about ticks and lice I remembered this documentary that mentioned that communal grooming in animals and humans releases endorphin's that improve one's mood.

First off just wanted to say you were recommended to me by ASMRrequests. Second of all I deal with PTSD my therapists wanted to put me on REM but they said since watching you and ASMRrequests that it has helped with my disorder some but it's a slower process. I seriously rather listen to you then pay a therapist millions of dollars heck I rather pay you millions of dollars if it will help with my disorder.

Maybe you can petition TED to allow you to give a presentation, in ASMR format of course, at their next gathering?
