Looking forward eight years from now when i will be close enough to retire from working for others, if something else doesn't happen. I bought 4 bananas the other day for 0.85. They are 0.79 a pound here in the northeast of the U.S.

All I can say is: thank you ! You made my decision of spending at least the next winter, if not even longer in Thailand much easier. Even if your budget doesn’t reflect my spending, although it definitely should by the sounds if it, I believe my monthly pension should cover most of it. As you were saying, I’m just trying to live my best life, no matter what the cost. If I can stay at a total budget of $5000 per month, I wouldn’t have to touch my savings and I’ll be happy as .… .

Half that budget you can live well in low season (May-October). Good accommodation deals on Agoda where you can get a good room for 500baht+ a night. 1000 on the beach in Kamala. It all depends on how much your drink in the girly bars and P4P …

I stayed in Thailand for 4 months split between Phuket and Pattaya and went full throttle. Stayed at a cheap place though and that was about $550/ month on average. Other than that between the booze, western food and women (sometimes 2 at a time, I met some great sisters) I stuck to a budget of about 20k baht a week in Phuket. In Pattaya I opened the throttle a little more and that was 22k baht every 5 days. Booze for me and the ladies was the biggest expense. I drank like a college kid away from home for the first time and don't mind paying someone for lady drinks. As someone that never liked putting in the effort needed for a relationship this is ideal for me.

2 things I don't understand though: I don't go anywhere looking for other men to talk to and that goes double for Thailand. I would imagine many men are the same. Why would I want to spend my time with men? So I didn't mind it being slow. Those Thai barbecues make eating extremely uncomfortable when you're dealing the Thai heat and humidity. I'd rather have someone else cook my food for me rather than pay more to have to cook my food myself while sitting in front of an oven.

The cool thing about that is I can tell it my age, health status, goals etc., and it will create recipes that target my goals for my age, and they still taste great. It's not cheap to live here. In the last couple of years, I've probably watched dozens of videos on cost of living in Thailand and Philippines. What I have yet to see, is someone lay out a recipe for HOW to find inexpensive accommodations in one's location of choice. Yes, we see what people found, but HOW did they find it? Hey Neil that's a great question... what I typically do is I look on Facebook marketplace I also drive around looking at rental signs and for sale signs... I find that Facebook marketplace is the best place to look because you can get such a wide range and you can understand the prices and the values in that area. Also as you're well aware you can set your location anywhere you want to so you can look at places that are hundreds of miles away right on your phone... the reason for the headaches from quitting Coke a cola is the caffeine content. quitting anything with caffeine sucks. if you want the sugars, which your body actually needs and wants then try sprite. there is a good book called caffeine blues.

You're 100% correct with the caffeine issue! I don't drink coffee so the only caffeine that I was getting was from the colas the only problem with drinking Sprite is that it's still pop and I'm going to wind up going back to drinking Coke. I'll be honest with you quitting smoking was a hundred times easier than quitting Coke! thank you for the advice I really appreciate it I'm actually on a coconut water kick right now and that seems to be doing the trick! I used to love coke. No idea how many I would drink daily. I decided to go on a diet and I cut out all cokes. It had been a few weeks and I was on vacation and I wanted a coke with my meal. I decided to settle for a diet coke. I hated them but it was better than nothing. Within a few weeks I was drinking diet cokes and loving them. I tried to drink a regular coke and couldn't. The taste was different or my taste had changed. It's been several years now and I still cant drink coke but I still love diet coke but I may have one every 3 or 4 days.

That should be fine for many/most but there are some red flags. His rent is too cheap so maybe you'll spend more just because tourists are coming back, He didn't include companions either so beware of that cost. Then again he eats out every meal so there is one counter.

Quite honestly a happy ending massage here on the island costs anywhere from about 800 up to 1,500 baht quite honestly depending on how pretty the girl is how busy it is etc etc So that's anywhere from $24 to 45 US dollars Hope this helps

hey Michael I'm not sure how the American system works I'm Canadian and I'm not on any type of pensions I'm way too young for that my friend.... I just use my Canadian bank accounts... because I'm not on a retirement or education visa I'm on the tourist visas I cannot open a bank account here but honestly it's not a problem I think the best thing to do would be to go in and talk to someone at your bank or your investment guy to find out how everything would work as an American.. Sorry bro I wish I could help you but I just don't know
