Dev thanks for giving this for free man. Can't buy the academy program cuz my parents can't afford it. But still, no excuses. doing all I could to play college ball. I'll just focus on what I have and I wont complain for the things that I dont have because there are no excuses in reaching my goals. I've watched the whole 10000 hours series and it changed my prespective of basketball. Also, it taught me lessons that is beyond basketball and can be applied to our lives. My shooting workout: One hand form shots from 3ft out to FT and 2 feet behind FT (ray's ladder). Diagonal shooting around the key going under one leg (left side left leg / right right leg) until 3 FT above elbows - changing sides Left/right each time. Nail series (splits above 3pt line to 1 dribble pulls at elbows, 1 dribble pull behind the back either hand, 1 dribble to x2 through the legs pull, Elbow jab pulls either side, Behind back transfer either side 2 ft above elbows, jab/swing cross pulls either side). I also just added snaking off the screen into a pull up around the top nail/3pt at centre. Baseline series (back pedaling while dribbling either left hand or right hand into stop & pull up, back pedal with the ball in the shooting pocket stop & pull, Throw the ball backwards while running backwards catch and shoot, throw the ball & back pedal to catch and 1 escape dribble sideways either left or right. I do this from both the left and the right baseline. Corner series - I put a ball, water bottle, or shoe like 2-3 feet out from the wall in the corner either left or right. I stay in one corner and go split going left (left side) 1 dribble to pull up 3. I do the same thing on the right side. roughly 30-50 shots either side. Im aiming for 20 in a row. Corners w/ escape dribble - Same thing but when I split the cone, ball, or shoe Instead of just 1 dribble into a 3 I take a second dribble going behind my back in the opposite direction. So if Im left corner and Im doing the 1 dribble into a pull going around a screen into the left corner as I get the ball back from that left hand left side movement I pull the ball back behind my back going right and pull up. So it becomes a 2 dribble pull with one dribble carrying me into the corner and the other going the opposite way taking me back towards the wing while going behind my back. I do the same thing from the right side. Again here I take between 20 and 50 aiming for around 20 in a row. Really levelled up my shooting. The addition of off the dribble and back pedaling really makes a difference on balance and shooting while moving. Ive easily hit over 20+ in a row multiple times now from this workout alone both with a 3 pound NBA trainer and a regular ball. Edit - Shooting from the wings or top from range is difficult in the shit gym I work out of due to the low ceilings and metal bars/pipes but I was just way past the volleyball line outdoors and shits cash... Really helped me improve.
@johncoleman64095 жыл бұрын
thanks bro, that really helped me improve my shooting
@519lastuchiha5 жыл бұрын
@@johncoleman6409 Im super glad to hear. Nobody listens to my ass lol. The variations in shooting (jabs, btl, behinds, reverse pivots, back peddaling, diff catch & shoots, escape dribbles / escape dribble counters etc) are all so important. If you just stand and shoot all your life then anything off the dribble or cutting will be awkward af. I tried this for a couple months and it completely changed my shooting ability to where Im feeling happy/confident in my abilities. I really hope it works for you too. Steal all the shit/drills from my channel that you think will help. I havent upped to YT in a while but got lots on Twitter and IG usually. All the best :)

Ray once set a then-record 8 threes in the finals against the lakers, but then went 0-13 the very next day. Another important thing shooters have to remember is you will miss shots. Don't ever get too high. Don't ever get too low. Just keep shooting.

Balance is definitely an underrated aspect of shooting. I see a lot of bad shooters jumping really far left or right when they're shooting on the move. Makes it much harder compared to being able to almost completely stop and jump up and forward so you're momentum is going toward the hoop instead of away from it. Way easier to shoot the ball straight this way.

I was expecting something more detailed from you. I would have liked to know where you place your hands on the ball, how wide you spread your fingers, how much of your fingers touch the ball then find someone with different mechanics and compare what works for them to what you've found what works for you. Gilbert Arenas talks about him being an arm shooter where as Ray Alllen was a leg shooter. I want to know the pros and cons of both.
@lukepatterson71455 жыл бұрын
L GG arm shooters require arm strength so if your an arm shooter then u won’t be able to shoot from far if u aren’t strong and the interview your talking about with Gilbert I watched and if u rly think about it being a leg shooter is worse because u use your legs for running u get tired and Gilbert said that at the end of games ray Allen would shoot short because his legs were tired from running That’s just my take on it because I’m an arm shooter and I have a solid 3 points shot but I’m not strong enough to shoot with the same arm mechanics from the blue line
