Jeff, loved another great episode today on the Frankenhauler pedal box mount. You mentioned the harsh buzz in this episode of the Alfararri, and that you have poly engine mount bushings. You may follow the 914/360 build on "At the Red Barn". He mentions the soft factory bushings which he believes were engineered to offset the inherent vibration from a flat-plane crank engine.

Great work Jeff! I recently weighed mine, which has a full cage, grp fenders + front/rear panels, but steel doors, hood and trunklid. Bucket seats, which save a bit. That car landed at 1000kilo's almost exactly with half a tank of gas. No bumpers. So a stock GT smoothnose in euro spec should be between 1050 and 1100 wet indeed.

What you have achieved so far with this car is fantastic. NVH? Auto manufacturers spend millions of dollars to address it and it has only in the recent past, relatively, that it has turned from mainly a black art to a science. Great work Jeff. Exciting times! Boy, do they ever take car registration more seriously down under. Up here in Ontario, Canada, you need to have it certified (essentially your pink slip) when registering a used vehicle the first time. After that, you only need proof of insurance to keep it on the road unless the cops notice large parts of your vehicle falling off!
@georgebettiol83383 ай бұрын
You cannot compare as you say - "a used vehicle" with the Alfarrari - a car that has an engine with thrice the power of the original and with the majority of the key original components been subject to significant change, redesign or replacement with items from another OEM. The Alfarrari would not be allowed on the road on the majority of European countries - period.
@Sharkerp383 ай бұрын
@@georgebettiol8338 In Ontario you would need to take it to the local garage and show that it had headlights, turn signals and enough meat on the brakes. And if you know a guy, he can do it without even seeing the car...

@@HomeBuiltByJeffAh, might just be flat plate V8 stuff then, I’ve driven a (track hire abused) 360 before, and it really wasn’t the smoothest drive when you weren’t 100% on it. Some fluid filled engine mounts from an audi or something might help keep it out the cabin, but then it might need a brace to stop it rocking/avoid clearance issues.
